Reading on the BBC website t'other day that last week marked what would've been Ravi Shankar's 100th birthday.
The maestro taught George Harrison how to play the instrument, but apparently didn't care too much for GH's playing.
Got me thinking which was my favourite (Beatles) track to feature the exotic instrument.,I immediately thought of the 'Inner light ' but on checking it's not listed as one of the instruments featured.
Ultimately settled on this beauty:
Any other great tunes featuring the Sitar?
Can think of one or two other Beatles' tracks that spring to mind, those aside tho' I can't recall too many others off the top of my head?

Reading on the BBC website t'other day that last week marked what would've been Ravi Shankar's 100th birthday. So he was 59 when he got Norah Jones as daughter then?

Not forgetting this creative gem: Harrison had such a spiritual dimension to him and as a teenager I was really influenced by The Beatles One of my favourite Harrison non-Beatle tracks

Woodstock Director's Cut... '69.
Cheeezy sound if in the hands of goons and over eager samplers.. Always fond of the Cornershop roll out... judicious use...

Went to see Ravi Shankar at the New Vic Theatre in the early 90s. Awesome stuff. Almost transcendental. Love a good bit of sitar.
