On the flip side, my wife who has no association with Stoke City (Shes from Manc) wants to call our unborn son Stanley. I’m a bit reluctant as I can’t be arsed with people asking us if he’s named after sir Stan for the rest of his life. Or the knife

When taking my professional exams many, many years ago we sometimes had to write a letter or report as if from a fictional firm of accountants. The firm I always used was, ‘Marsh, Smith, Bloor, and Pejic, Chartered Accountants’. I still believe that the only reason I qualified was that the person marking my papers was a Stokie.

I write English language exams and pretty much every character that’s ever appeared in the little dialogues has been a Mark, Ric, Liam, Jermaine, Rory, Ryan, Bertie, Johnny, Vince, Sergei........... (or a feminised version of similar)

I had two goldfish called Lou and Nello. They lived in the bath for a couple of years. True story that is. Nello had swim bladder problems and was always upside down. OS. I know a few people who had bladder problems and were always upside down on OBPU’s or Tollgate get togethers 🤣

Stanley and Franklin, the Miniature Schnauzers.
Nello, the Call Duck.
Also, my brother had a cat called Banksy. Coincidently, the cat lost an eye, too.

The last one we had when you were there, you were lying in the middle of the road outside O'Leary's Bar with your arms and legs up in the air while you were singing Delilah. German Stokie - Dan - hope you're keeping well big fella. Long time no see. Take care! OS.

I am a lawyer by day and as an increasingly old fart one of my roles is to train others and I do quite a bit of teaching. I wrote a mock court room event so that the students could all have a go. I wrote the scenario and all the parts out - witnesses, Judge etc. It has been running successfully now for about 5 years. The names of the key people in the case? Peter Thorne, Ricardo Fuller, Mark Stein and (weirdly) Gary Bloke. Only one participant in all that time spotted the Stoke link - a dyed in the wool Bournemouth supporter as it happens.

Might be a double bluff as she could be a clandestine Accrington Stanley fan.My wife's cousin has a son called Stanley and she is a Vale fan perhaps she just likes the name. Vale fan in denial 😄

I saw the words BRAN SMALL spelt out recently, it’s now dawned on me that the yellow mustard seed had sold out. I did find it weird that somebody was referencing tiny cereal in the herbs and spices aisle.

If anyone knows (or is!) one of the writers (or possibly researchers?) From the show "Home from Home" starring Johny Vegas please let me know, they have to have some Stoke connection to have the knowledge they did.

My wife and I are getting a cat. It’s going to be called Walter and my wife thinks it’s a good name for him. She doesn’t know it’s full name is Jonathan Walters. Have you ever snuck in a Stoke name / reference unbeknown to others? Has he a touch of the tar brush about him?

Have you ever snuck in a Stoke name / reference unbeknown to others? Me mate had a baby a few years ago. At the head wetting he said he and his wife were undecided on a name so I threw a few ideas in. That reminds me, I forgot to send little Hanley Park Lake an Easter egg.
