Think Jimmy Greenhoff against Birmingham many years ago will take some topping. That's a brilliant goal but not as good as Crouchies in my opinion.

Terry Conroy's goal, Stoke's third in the 5-0 defeat of Arsenal in 1971. Conroy was just inside the Arsenal half on the right and put a wall pass inside on the run, and took the return in full stride to hit a 3O yarder that went straight into the goal without touching the sides. Think it came second in that years MOTD "Goal of the Season".

Terry Conroy's goal ( at 1.20) in the 5 -0 win against Arsenal. As a 15 year old, just amazing to annihilate them.
Plenty of Fuller ones.....anyone got the video/ more information of his goal when he was trapped up the corner of the Stoke end by two defenders, no danger, he beat both in one move , cut in towards goal and scored

Bad defending etc , if was Payet would have been world class etc have yet to see a goal that was down to good defending to be fair

Freezer scored a belter against Manure in a friendly. The game where Fergie blamed the result on the length of the grass the cock.

Has anyone got a video of Big John on his hands and knees v Southampton? Legend. No. It wasn't televised. I don't think there is even a photograph available. The next home game after the Southampton match was a re-arranged game against Arsenal (postponed from the 9th February) and they just re-used the original programme. (That programme also reminded me that for most of January/February 1974 we also kicked off at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon - to maximise daylight during the 3 day week). Big John's first goal and Geoff Hurst's header are both in the Burnley programme (6th April 1974). At the time I used to keep The Sentinel and Sunday paper reports in a scrapbook (now lost) but I don't recall it being in any of those reports either. Living on my own at this time is obviously polishing my best anorak wearer's skills!

Any excuse to post this ( what happened to the second goal?) Sorry to be pedantic, but, isn't it the first goal that is missing? (A run and cross by TC from the right and a far post header by Ritchie?) Maybe Bob Wilson sabotaged the tape while he was alone in the Match of the Day studio.

You are right Ali, I remember not being able to get to the game because of the PMT bus strike.

Assaidi vs Chelsea wasn't too shabby Yes I agree I sit in Block 13 and I was right behind him. As soon as he hit I knew that would go in. I was on cloud nine then and driving 180 miles with others we were absolutely delighted.

The best goal I've ever seen from a Stoke player has to be Crouchies against Man City. My favourite goal is probably Ricardo's audacious flick goal against Villa. Same here. I love the Crouch goal from the team aspect too - the number of touches, starting with Begovic, without the ball touching the grass.

Arnie v Fulham the day we relegated them was a belter. He was so cocky the way he took it first time and just lashed it in the top corner
