You're right. Passed back from a good way out with spin on it. Was a fantastic through ball đ Foley was about to clear the ball, when a Kevin Pressman yelled âmine!â and Foley passed back instead of clearing his lines. I also remember the junior supporter penalty shoot out before the match. Stokeâs munchkin sized kids versus Torquayâs strapping fifth formers đ I remember Justin Fashanu getting some stick as heâd just come out as gay. Fashanu was chatting to Paul Barnes on the touchline wasn't he as they'd both played together previously at Notts County. I remember being stopped in the street after the game by a really drunken old Irish fella who asked me to buy him some chips Turned out he was from the the same town as my Mum....thinking back now I doubt he was at all. Think I might have fallen for that one The reverse fixture at the Vic was the day the fog came down and being in the Stoke End seats, the last 30 mins we couldn't see the Boothen end goal. Were listening for the crowd reaction for what was going on. 3-0 win seem to remember.

........I got married. In other news we lost 1-0 away at Torquay United (in the third tier). Any other wedding day results out there ?? That game is famous for the torquay corner flag being taller than junior bent Also if I recall correctly the late Justin Fashanu was in the Torquay matchday squad. Went to the game without a ticket and managed to blag a seat in the Torquay stand. 28 years eh? - jeez where did that go?

I rang a local courier, got him to buy me 2 home tickets and leave at our hotel. The only way could get tickets as we only had a few hundred. Was a lot of Stoke in the Torquay stand. The couple next to us had been to the club dance the night before which included complimentary tickets

I think Fashanu was Torquayâs assistant manager and the first black managerial appointment in the football league.
