But booked a holiday twelve months in advance before we made the play offs against Brentford, I flew out from Manchester 2 hours after the match. Wife told me it was a divorce if I went so had to give my dad my ticket, at least we won and I say it’s because I didn’t and as an act of kindness sent my dad it’s why we broke the dressing room curse 😉

I worked at the club at the time in the family stand so jumped straight in get one, then realised I’d fucked it. Spend days trying explain to the mrs who was pregnant at the time with our fourth that she would be ok going the airport with three under 6’s and I would meet her there as I had just enough time if we left at full time get from Cardiff to Manchester airport at the same time she arrived to check in. It wasn’t washing so I had to watch it at home, was grinning like a proper dick though wandering around Manchester airport doing a full kit wanker waiting for the flight 😂

1-0 win at Miwaaw 13 Aug 2005, think we still have some pics of the day in the bar after the ceremony, with sky sports on a big tv on in the background.

1.1 draw away to Wimbledon at Selhurst Park 2002. Didn't pay any attention to the game tbh.

Who gets married during the season? Schoolboy error!! Wow ! Do some guys get a say in choosing their wedding day ?? I managed to get agreement on getting married on 6th June 1992 about 12 months in advance on the assumption that no matter how successful or not we were, the season would be over by then. I think I sold it by saying the weather would be better then, especially as we were honeymooning in Cornwall. (She seemed to buy it ). It even turned out that while the weather on 5th June was appalling (the road to the hall where we held the reception was cut off by flood water), the weather on the day was glorious as was the following 2 weeks! My sister was not so accommodating. She got married on Saturday 4th May 1985, so me and my parents were forced to miss the home game against Newcastle. Despite having been relegated for a couple of months by then I still nipped out of the reception at 5:00 pm to listen to the football results and the match report on the car radio. I even had a good swear when I heard we had lost to another Paul Dyson own goal before I went back in!

Are you in State 1ZA mate Yes mate, all hatches battened down and pot mess bubbling away under the steam drain First middle watch on HMS Brave I enquired about the pot mess and was met with blank stares! The pot mess situation on there changed very rapidly! They weren't getting bacon and sausage butties on the morning watch when I joined either!

Not really at short notice. Invites go out months in advance. Lets say the season runs from August to May - 10 months - roughly 40 odd Saturdays. That still leaves 300+ days to choose that wouldn't coincide with a game being played. I got married on a Thursday in August so...

You're right. Passed back from a good way out with spin on it. Was a fantastic through ball 😄 Foley was about to clear the ball, when a Kevin Pressman yelled ‘mine!’ and Foley passed back instead of clearing his lines. I also remember the junior supporter penalty shoot out before the match. Stoke’s munchkin sized kids versus Torquay’s strapping fifth formers 😁 I remember Justin Fashanu getting some stick as he’d just come out as gay.
