Are there any decent ones anymore?
Lloris, one of the worlds best apparently, is toss. Yet another howler from him.
Pickford, De Gea ridiculously overrated.
Everyone talks about the lost art of defending but its seems the good goalkeeper bar is lower than it's ever been.

Lloris is, and always was, bang average.
Never understood the hype around him. Clanger every other game.
Oblak is exceptional though.

He's won things for Leicester but I'm surprised one of the big clubs hasn't gone for him. In addition to letting very few goals in, he saves a bunch of penalties.

Funninely enough Jack came out for a corner in the first halt half and caught it and I was surprisred

There is a valid argument that suggests goalkeeping is made more difficult in the modern era by the unpredictable behaviour of the ball. Modern day footballs are quite lightweight and are likely to move and spin in the air prodigiously to the extent that they quite literally wrong foot the goalkeeper or otherwise make the flight of the ball very difficult to judge. This does not explain all of the generally poor standards of goalkeeping, or why Butland stays rooted back on his line so often, but it plays a big part in things.

I feel like Oblak is good but every keeper is going to look decent in a Simeone defence... Courtois looked unreal at Athleti but he's not looked remotely as strong since his time there.

The art of keeping is dying , to many managers want the keepers be footballers when all they’re there to do is save goals , I’d take a shot stopper any day the week over all these ball playing types

I think their gloves are so big, they don't know where their hands are anymore.
Imagine if they had keep goal with their bare hands like Banksie did week in week out, and without the protection of refs too.

Or he picked the flight of the ball very early so came to catch it. what ,are you seriousy Well he didn't come for one 2nd half so I suspect he makes his own decisions rather than being told what to do.
