Any team outside of the big teams in the Prem will eventually go down. We had 10 years which I think is a record for a newly promoted Prem side yet many criticise the way we were run. I gave us 3 at most which would have been a decent run.

I pray it does. Seeing their success has only added to my misery at the state of football at the moment.

A lot will hinge on if and when Nuno departs, they have a fantastic recruitment advantage over other clubs with Mendes' contacts. There's absolutely no way any other club signs Ruben Neves in the second tier.
They have very ambitious and committed owners, a growing brand worldwide and a very good side. They could really benefit from the fracturing of the traditional top 6 in the years to come. They're not plucky up and comers and that's why it's very possible this is more than just a flash in the pan. I personally don't think it's a bubble at all, it's a lot of hard work and intelligence coming to fruition. They've achieved everything West Ham et al. have been trying to do for the past 10 years in 2 seasons.

I was chatting to the son of one of the owners last weekend and he still can't believe where they are.

I gave us 3 at most which would have been a decent run. Fulham had 13 years. We were run well for a good time, but they failed to adapt when it mattered and weren't brave enough to change things when it clearly wasn't working. I would still argue in many ways, it's the case.

It's been based on a strategy that our conservative stodgy board would never recognise let alone implement. If, and it's a big if, they can keep the manager and recruitment structure in place for a few more years they could well emulate Leicester, not winning the Prem, but being recognised as one of the best of the rest with regular Euro forays....lucky them

Every bubble bursts eventually.
The key is to try and not do the bursting yourself and if you do, try to learn from it instead of jumping all over the bubble wearing the same pair of shoes you burst it with in the fost place.
Thankfully we learned didn't we?

If they make don't make the top 4 then other clubs will be sniffing around their players. Jiminez, Neves and Traore will be the first to go

Watched bits of the game yesterday....such pace and movement. Even at whatever was considered our prime in the Premier League, we never had it to that level. As much as it pains me to say it, I think they will last longer in the Premier League than we did and with the vision of those running it leave a far more advanced legacy than we have. I think so many opportunities were missed and chances wasted to push the club on while we were in the top flight for ten years.

Well run club made all the right decisions could & should have been us but we missed a fantastic chance through lack of ambition & owners who dithered & lacked the know how on how to push on.

We are trailing in their dust...the decisions they have made at executive level have taken the club forward ours have taken us backwards..They have a good manager and have signed excellent players and whilst it sticks in our craws you have to admire them.

The backers at Wolves, Fosun, are in it for the long term. They will want Champions League on a regular basis eventually. To achieve that will require a continuation of 'smart' transfers i.e. Younger talent on their way up and some serious sustained backing. Be a big test if/when they lose Nuno however can only see him leaving for a too job and even then only under the right conditions.
They wouldn't worry about losing some of their star players, they would simply buy some replacements.
Perhaps be interesting to see what happens if they get two or three big transfers wrong though.
I think Wolves are still very much on an upward curve and will be for some time (years) yet

If they make don't make the top 4 then other clubs will be sniffing around their players. Jiminez, Neves and Traore will be the first to go Step forward Jota, Campana, Neto + Podence etc. That's before they even spend any money from any profit they get out of Jiminez, Neves and Traore etc With Mendes' contacts, they can tap into some real quality.

It’s silly to even attempt to predict long term in footie, but it annoyingly looks like wolves are so much more than a flash in a pan. Even at our peak stokelona phase I’m not sure we were as good as they are now. From the outside looking in it just seems like everything that club is doing is forward thinking and right. Even off the pitch they’ve all but officially turned the south bank into a standing area. They’re just ahead of the curve. Cunts.

Man city managed to do it and Wolves could too. They aren't where they are through good luck.
Lots of chinese money coming in and Mendes sending top players there may well see them become established contenders
