Played well against Manchester United in the Premiee League seasons back on the left wing.
Played extremely well against Monaco dew seasons back together with Verlinden in a friendly match.
Played extremely well in our last cup match on the right wing and did more in just what 10-15 minutes than Tom Ince 90 that match.
At 22 seems like his future is not so bright here.

Is it a coincidence that no manager ever seems to fancy him?

He’s obviously not showing the desire in training.
If he can’t force himself into the match day squad when we’ve currently only got one fit winger (who is absolutely toss), then he never will do.
Shame because he’s clearly got talent.

Shame because he’s clearly got talent. His attitude is the big issue with him. He’s got a better all round game than Campbell easily but Campbell wants it more. Ngoy should be a regular for someone like us now but I just don’t think he gives a fuck.

Looked a threat and nearly scored, no better than ince though.... Nearly scored🤔 He would have buried that chance though if he hadn't slipped, how many match minutes has ince played this season without coming close?

If he played on the right he would be What a great idea, lets stay as unbalanced as we are, its working out a treat so far. Depends what you call unbalanced, I call a left footer on the right unbalanced, this inside forward rubbish is just that, rubbish imo. Its only any good of you have top quality full backs and top inside forwards, we have neither. Oh for the days of beating your man down the flank and putting it in the box from the line and straight at goal, simple and effective. I'll take a pennant on one side and an etherington on the other everyday of the week. This inside forward shit system has worked for us for a very short period of time when we had some top players playing at their peak in the 3

In summer if we put our recruitment head on we only need to adjust the squad slightly to make a decent 442 work for us.
Step 1) sort out the CM, let allen move on and bring in a presence that likes a tackle and picking a pass, a runner like Whitehead.
Step 2) play powell up top as deeper CF with another CF like campbell. We also have vokes to play in a 2 in a 442 to compete with Powell ( a player we wont shift and is useless how we currently play).
Step 3) move ince to LW to compete with Maclean (because let's face it no one will buy him and he has looked o.k on the left when used there) and use Verlinden & ngoy to compete with each other for the right side.
Step 4) sign a decent Left back.
Job done.
Our right backs would also look better in a 442
It's all about getting in the right CM players

Ince was used sporadically on the left at times and looked o.k. I'd definatly change the GK's but that's a given for me that doesnt need commenting on further for me. Next season should see the emergence of collins who likes to move forward with the ball and pick a pass so I'd fancy him in a pair with a shawcross or batth

Powell would make a decent deep lying forward in a pair, big enough, tricky, puts himself about, can pass and comfortable on the ball. Could be very good at CF alongside campbell

So it's likely that we once again need 6 or 7 players assuming 5 or 6 leave (Butland, Allen, BMI, Gregory, Diouf, Federici and Chester to start). Seems like the third summer in a row we'll be starting from scratch. Is it possible to get it all done in a summer?

Is it possible to get it all done in a summer? it looks a few steps but then for me it also fixes other issues we will be straddled with if we plod on with the same system, like vokes and ince that we wont shift. Vokes is a headache that would be solved imo because he would be a different proposition if he had crosses coming in to attack from either flank, we would be maximising his strengths, I'm not ince's biggest fan but as competition for Maclean I'm sure even he could muster a few crosses from the left using his left foot. 2 expensive headaches solved imo, JM is also better as a winger in a 442
