29th February has fallen on a Saturday six times since we first entered formal national competitions in the 1880s. We have played a match on all of them, every time away. Record so far W1 D2 L2
Saturday 29th Feb 1992: Football League Third Division - Birmingham 1-1 Stoke Saturday 29th Feb 1964: Football League First Division - Arsenal 1-1 Stoke Saturday 29th Feb 1936: Football League First Division - Bolton 1-2 Stoke Saturday 29th Feb 1908: Football League Second Division - Blackpool 1-0 Stoke Saturday 29th Feb 1896: FA Cup - Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 Stoke -- Saturday 29th Feb 2020: EFL Championship - Luton Town --- Stoke
We have never hosted a game on a leap day, and we have never played on a leap day that wasn't a Saturday. However on Friday 29th Feb 2008, we did sign Chris Riggott on loan from Middlesbrough.

People seem to think that the word 'factoid' means 'small fact' or equates to 'digestible trivia' when it means nothing of the sort. A factoid is in fact a piece of unreliable information that is reported and repeated so often that it becomes accepted as fact. I blame that cunt Steve Wright (in the afternoon) for perpetuating this misconception. PS: Love the show!

Still didn't change the name though ...

Was that Birmingham Riot? Paul Barnes equaliser day?? That game was my first ever away match (I was 11 years old). I remember being disappointed that subsequent away games were not as exciting 😂
