Was stunned to see how old she was!
Mind you, I suppose everyone looked young compared to Patrick Moore, but it is amazing that it is 40+ years since she first appeared on The Sky at Night.
RIP

A great communicator on TV. She must have inspired many children to have an interest in astronomy and many young women to believe that they could compete successfully in jobs traditionally associated with men.
RIP Heather.

It's only within the last year that i gave my youngest my old copy of her book "The Planets" from the 80s.
Still one of the best books out there for the amateur astro enthusiast.
RIP Heather. Inspired many over the years and now continuing to do so to new generations (even though my daughter had never heard of her). Brilliant broadcaster and will be missed

Brilliant broadcaster and will be missed She definitely had some star quality together with that infectious enthusiasm which made for really entertaining TV on a subject which could have been dull in the hands of the wrong presenter. Good old Patrick was an entertainer as well
