Start Campbell at home, use him from the bench away if he needs a rest at the weekend. I don’t want to see Vokes plodding around on his own up front in a home game, Preston will take us apart if we don’t have any pace up front to stretch the game. Vokes is more use at home than away. Diouf should be starting on Wednesday as he’s the only one who comes close to what Campbell does. Campbell looked shattered after 50 minutes yesterday and that’s completely expected. He was rubbing the back of his right thigh a lot too. We need to protect him and use him wisely. Have to agree, if we are limiting Tyrese game time while he gets himself stronger we should be using him away. We have no way to stretch the game away from home without Tyrese. He plays at QPR for me.

Possibly but he’s still the next best option we have up front. No he isn't Yes he is. He's way better than Vokes and Gregory.

It will be a tough game. Preston are back on form and are good away from home. Given his recent injury id be tempted to rest Campbell and throw him on when the game is stretched.

Can’t change a winning side, the old cliche - the next game is the most important

Not sure about the “same side as Saturday” bit tbh. Campbell is coming back from 2/3 weeks out and is a bit injury prone, so I’m not sure I’d start him with 4 games in 14 days to come. And with that in mind too he’s got to make some changes with keeping players like Powell fit, keeping the midfield fresh in mind. It’s a tough little period where we need to use the squad well. You wouldn't just be replacing one forward with another. Campbell is essentiel for the way we play when we play really well. He'd be essentiel even if he never scored another goal (obviously I hope he does), because unlike his likely replacement, Vokes, he has pace, mobility, creativity and he scares the shit out of opposing defenders, he's likely to occupy at least three at a time, which leads to that much more space and time for Ince, Powell, Clucas, and McClean to pop up and score. He can can create something on his own even if those four are too far behind. None of this will happen if we play with Vokes. I suppose the one thing Vokes has in his favour over Ty is height, which then indicates that we will have to change our whole playing canvas with more hoofball. That said, it's a good point, and a very troublesome at that, we don't want to lose Ty with another injury.

Knowing Stoke, he’d probably score against us!! Doubt it, wouldn’t fancy holding a bovril behind the goal

When did we last beat preston? Feels like they've got a bit of a hoodoo over us at moment.

Yeah it's not ideal in the slightest but he is a bit injury prone and shouldn't be rushed or overplayed imo. We've got to be sensible.

As I said, if Campbell has half the career that Diouf has had then he’s done well. Biram hasn’t played well for about 4 seasons, and needs about 20 chances to score 1. I get that he’s had a decent career but those days are long gone. he came on a few weeks ago for a cameo, scored the winner in the last minute (wigan?), didn't need 20 chances that day.

I still laugh at how we've finished 16th last year, have been in a relegation battle this year and people still won't admit that some players in this league are actually quite good.

I was just thinking that this century seems an awful long time for only 4 wins, then I realised we are only 20 years into the century! It is a Monday morning I suppose.

It really pisses me off that other club managers/supporters still have the opinion that we are a physical side who offers nothing else. Take a look on Wikipedia, Pulis left years ago.

A lot of people seem to think we play Pulis ball again. They couldn’t be more wrong. Can we be direct? Of course we can, but with MON we seem to be able to mix it up. We’re faster and get the ball up the pitch quicker, and sometimes we don’t play some half bad nogger at all.

We’re faster and get the ball up the pitch quicker, and sometimes we don’t play some half bad nogger at all. It tends to come from long balls though initially. Jones was plain direct, what MON has bought in is a mobile striker and playing balls into the channel for him and the wingers and Powell to chase. And we play the football from there.

Tough three game week - we need to manage our resources, but then MON likes to keep the same team together for consistency and the old adage is "never change a winning team."
If all fit, I'd go same again. It is hard to know where to make changes after Saturday. Maybe, if we have the luxury of a decent lead after an hour, rest a couple then.

So summing up the expert opinion on this thread We should: a) Start the same team; b} Start Vokes: c) Start Diouf; d) Start Gregory; e) Start Campbell out wide; f) Switch to 2 up front; g) Well, you get the picture. Thank heavens we have a professional at the helm who (hopefully) bases his decisions on more than whimsey.

A PNE mate said they had sold around 700 tickets. Though the following week they have sold 2000 for Fulham a big game for them.
Normally they bring a decent following for the size of the club, i did expect around 1500.
Cheers crouch beat me by a few seconds.
