Thought he was excellent as a holding midfielder. Nice and aggressive and a good range of passing. AND we scored off one of his corners! I though he did well today, considering he is new to this division, it didn't show.

Got caught with the ball quite a few times in the first half, by improved as the game went on. But his set piece delivery was a big improvement on other takers.

He's a box to box midfielder (cover for Allen and Clucas) not a winger or holding midfielder.

He's a box to box midfielder (cover for Allen and Clucas) not a winger or holding midfielder. He's not a winger but if his delivery his good then some games out wide might work. We definitely need at least one more actual winger in the squad

Huge improvement today and Round peg round hole worked wonders . Well done by both player and manager Isn't he a winger? that's not really round peg round hole. Last week showed he is definitely not a winger but he did a very solid job today .

I thought he was anonymous really. Got caught in possession a few times too. One of those thankless jobs, don't get noticed until you make a mistake. Ask Whelan he did the job for years, dont miss him until hes gone. Anyway back on track Thompson hasn't played many games this season and not at this level, young time on his side, could be a big player in the future.

Fantastic set piece delivery and a steady game but never ever MOTM for me I thought he looked quite promising, nowhere near MOM but he has got a great left foot, a potential Nigel Cleghorn, we've never replaced him tbf

He got caught on the ball TWICE early on. He then had a very tidy game in front of the back four and covered Bruno on several occasions. His corners were a revelation and he's got a decent ball in from open play. But he definitely wasn't MOM.

Fully deserved for me.

After getting dispossessed a couple of times early on he was very tidy on the ball.
That said I think Cousins for Thompson will be the only change for Wednesday.....

I didn’t think Thompson did a lot today.
Perhaps not noticing one of our players is a good thing these days.

I thought he was anonymous really. Got caught in possession a few times too. Heavens above, how revealing would it be if every poster's work performance were scrutinised as thoroughly as our players? You'd think they were all on top of their job and putting 100% into their work and getting maximum results from what they were doing! Wonder how they would react to 'he's shit/waste of space/stealing a living/looks disinterested/lazy/not showing any energy' etc etc?

I agree too very worrying I’d actually start Gregory on that basis and save Campbell for Luton rather th a find Campbell is short at Luton

Thought he was excellent as a holding midfielder. Nice and aggressive and a good range of passing. So he played him as the holder? That’s interesting. In his cameos so far he’s done ok but we seemed to lose shape when he came on. Hopefully he can carry this performance on as it sounds exactly what we need. So did Clucas play left wing?

It's early days but Cousins looks better suited to the DM role,he's a lot stronger in the tackle but Thompson has a better range of passing

He was OK, very promising in fact but his MOM award was once again testament to the strength of the alcohol in the sponsors suite.

I couldn’t catch the game, and that seems the obvious position for him considering his great season there in the past but I was reading Powell was in off the left allegedly!

Looked like 4141 to me with him as the holder and Powell on the left.....it worked for us I thought but clearly is not so offensive as 4231. Until McClean is back I think this is how we will set up?
We just have to grind out a few more wins! Staying up is everything and I really don’t care how MON achieves this goal!

I didn't notice him at all tbh apart from when he got caught on the ball in the first half once, I suppose that's a good thing in his position but MOTM? Never.

If you’re intolerant to criticism then a forum isn’t the place to be. Especially a stoke forum in 2020

I couldn't make out who was supposed to be playing where most of the game and the players looked just as confused too...... O'Neill says he tinkered with the formation. Powell was on the left but was very deep a lot of the time,Clucas and Allen seemed to alternate as the middle of the 3 behind Campbell,Ince was all the shop, Thompson was DM,all very confusing to me
