After weaning all our children on this quintessentially English cartoon, the actor that plays Pepper Pig is to stand down. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51318539She has played a great part in the program’s success. I’ve watched it in other languages & it’s not got the character that she’s brought to the part:-

Annoying bossy cow, fuck off peppa. I still do the daddy pig "that's because I'm a bit of an expert " line when I do something that impresses the kids lol. Not very often clearly.

Thank Christ. If only that meant they'd stop showing all the past episodes too.
Our goddaughter is obsessed with Peppa Pig. So much so that I'll deliberately skip at the speed of light past the channels that might be showing it (incessantly!) when channel hunting for something we can all watch.
A nanosecond sighting of it is usually enough to bring a squeal of "Peppa !!!!" though. Even worse now she can read & hunt through the channel listings herself.
A good show, to be fair, I just don't want it on constantly for 3 hours ...
Plus point - I've introduced her to old kids' tv shows via youtube to try & avoid Peppa Pig. Huge hits with her have been:
Chorlton & The Wheelies The Trap Door Bodger & Badger (la la la la la ... Badger likes mashed potato!)

I’ve got my boy into Thundercats, Super Ted and Dogtanion (sp?). It’s all good.

After 3 and half years of this being drilled into my brain this offers some mild relief.
That being said I was amazed at the amount of animals my daughter could name at an early age and the theme park down in Southampton is wonderful as an introduction to them for youngsters.
Was it annoying - absolutely.
Did it at least use 'proper' words as opposed to that teletubby bollocks - most definitely.

We went there for couple of days when kids little and,by lucky chance, the half terms up here didn’t match the southern ones, so was pretty quiet, kids loved it and we didn’t hate it lol. peppa served a purpose, the DVD’s soothed many a tantrum and remember the sheer “thank god for that” moments of new episodes appearing so I didn’t have to mouth the old ones word for word. Brian Blessed voiced some of later ones too. How do I know all this stuff, you may ask? Well, it’s because I’m a bit of an expert.....

No mate still a native but I think we paid something like £200 this year for 2 x 2 day passes and a stay in Chiltern Manor which was very good value. Usually have tea in the Hungry Horse just outside the park so for a 3 year old it's an excellent value for money trip.

Actually, my kids Abdul and Herschel could do without this kind of filth.
My third, Yung Fat Chao, isn't that arsed.
