Would he get games though? If Allen stays I cannot see him or Clucas making way and we have just signed Thompson? Unless we're bracing ourselves for Allen going.

We’ve got our own young midfielders who need games. I think he’s thinking of quality though

No one else in our side can play the forward passes he does from deep. I'm not including Powell as I don't really class him as a central midfielder. Powell is a better passer though.

Curtis Jones would be a fantastic signing Would be good deal for all parties. Liverpool won't be able give him much more game time apart from Shrewsbury match and another game if get through.

He's been on their bench in the league the last few games and with them practically winning the league already then surely he's going to get more game time?

I enjoy your insights from watching the U23s U18s etc, but don't you think some of our other midfielders might be able to pick and deliver a pass better when not playing against experienced Championship midfielders and defenders? If MON watches them all in training and is missing Sorensen's outstanding passing ability, he is a poorer manager than he shows every indication of being.

www.transfermarkt.co.uk/curtis-jones/leistungsdaten/spieler/433188Yeah, Jones seems far too close to things at Liverpool now. On the bench every week. And if he was available, there'd be a queue to offer him regular football. The more you think about it, the more it's probably got to be Galbraith given the way the likelihood of football only towards the end of the season was described by Spinksy Maybe there is a chance of something permanent. He probably sees them plonking £50m on Fernandes and thinks 'where's the pathway for someone like me?' Alternatively here there's the chance of going into a first team squad with a manager he probably idolises

I think Allen all his career has been a really simple passer. Clucas doesn't offer much passing wise but it's not really what he's in the side for. I can see why he isn't in the side, other things need working on and he needed a loan 2 seasons ago to work on that. But he's a better passer than them.

I never like the idea of doing what Derby did last season and knowing if you don't get promotion you're back to square one and don't have your own squad.

We’ve got our own young midfielders who need games. Sorrensson Dunwoody? I’d like to think that we would find both a decent loan this window. Perhaps it was too much to ask that the transfer team actually gets all their work done on time, rather than leaving jobs half finished. I would rather they go out on loan, get more first team experience than they would here, and we bring in someone likely who is closer to the standard of Allen and Clucas, use them sparingly and send them back.

I work with tonnes of plastic scousers from Runcorn, you know the sort, never been to anfield in there lives. Anyhow, they think that when they've sewn the league up early, they'll play loads of youngsters in there remaining games and keep the star players healthy for the champions League. So he may get game time there ?

I really hate the way we are using and abusing the loan system. We keep sending players out on loan only to immediately forgetting about them. Very few/no one has gone out on loan and come back to even stake a claim for a first team bench. They hang around for a while longer and are then given frees. Instead we bring in loanees who are no better than the players already here and we send them back before their period is even over. And so the wheels keep turning.

No, it hasn't occurred to me that Sorenson is a better footballer than Clucas and Allen. He may well have potential, one day he could go on to have a better career than both or either for all I know. Right now, he just isn't our best midfielder.

Apart from Campbell and Verlinden you mean? The 'process' has been very flawed, but there are some positives to be taken from it.

Ok Campbell has but I'm not convinced he won't be pushed down the pecking order when O'Neill buys freely in the summer. Thibo has been given mere cameos which is insulting when you see the player who's ahead of him in the team. It's as good as telling him he's not being counted on.
