Amazing longevity. It comes as a bit of a shock to find that he wasn't immortal. RIP and condolences to his wife and family.

Me and the kids used to listen to Just a Minute in the car regularly when we were out and about, his wit was razor sharp despite his age.
He's had a good old innings, RIP x

Listened to this recently. Sharp as a tack for his monumental age and very funny. RIP.

Used to watch Sale of the Century as a kid. Questions were usually pretty easy and the prizes were hilariously shite! Proper 70s kitsch. RIP Nicholas.

Met him once, briefly, in Leeds. He & Paul Merton stopped me in the street & asked me to recommend a good, quiet pub. Think they'd come out of the theatre after a Just A Minute show recording.
He was a total gent.
The doyen of show hosts. Professional, sharp, understated. RIP Mr Parsons.

Just a minute around the late 70s/early 80s with the likes of Kenneth Williams, Clem Freud and Derick Nimo used to be on Radio 4 in my car when I was on my way to football at that time around about one or two pm.
Parsons was the perfect host to what Is arguably one of the funniest things you will ever here on Radio. Don’t know how to do links , but if you have never heard them they are still funny to this day.
RIP

J.A.M, Round Britain Quiz, Any Questions, Any Answers. I am sure there is a bigger list. Women’s Hour was mint in those days too. My first introduction to Douglas Adams and the Hitch Hikers Guide. Golden age of, one of my fave mediums. This is The Spirit of Radio.

Also, with all the knowledge on here, I am having a huge senior moment.
What was the show, Frank Muir, Dennis Norden plus as I remember. They were given a phrase and had to tell a story that ended with the phrase.
To this day I still remember “You can’t have your kayak and heat it” and the shopping list “soup, a colly, fridge, elastic, eggs, peas, halitosis”

Ill give you distracted driving. And you try and tell the kids that these days and they won’t believe you.
