www.skysports.com/transfer-centreTRIO TARGET SIMPSON LOAN
Middlesbrough, Stoke and Derby want to sign Bournemouth’s Jack Simpson on loan. The Cherries are expected to make a decision on whether to let the centre-back go later this week. Simpson, 23, has made only six appearances this season; three in the Premier League, two in EFL Cup and one in the FA Cup. He is a Bournemouth academy graduate and ex-England U21 international. Derby have been chasing Benkovic the centre half from Leicester for the whole January so unless he’s turned them down I can’t see them being competition for him I’d prefer benkovic tbh

If we need a cb lets go for Ben Gibson and build a defence around him More chance getting Mel Gibson!

Chasing a loanee from scummy Bournemouth. He'll be rolling around like a fucking dying fly at the merest hint of a tackle if hes been coached by that twat Howe.

I won't lie to you, I've never heard of this bloke.
Just looked him up on wiki, 23 years old and he has got on the pitch the sum total of 10 times in his entire adult life.
It would be a bizarre signing. He'd be hard pressed to call himself a footballer at all.

Really unnecessary.
We have Souttar out on loan and Collins in need of carefully managed game time.
Why bother developing someone else's player...

MIDDLESBROUGH are considering Bournemouth defender Jack Simpson as a loan alternative to Ben Gibson.
Gibson is his preferred option, but Burnley boss Sean Dyche remains reluctant to allow the former Boro skipper to leave this month despite having failed to select him for a single Premier League game this season.
Boro officials have held a number of discussions with their counterparts at Turf Moor, but have been unable to strike a deal for a season-long loan, forcing Woodgate to begin to look elsewhere.
Simpson would have a decent chance of playing first-team football with Boro, although the Teessiders are not the only Championship club to have expressed an interest in securing his services in the last few days.
Derby County and Stoke City have also held talks with Bournemouth officials, with a final decision over Simpson’s future expected next week. By that stage, Boro will hope to have received further guidance from Burnley over the likelihood of Gibson being allowed to leave.

www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/18186441.eddie-howe-admits-defender-jack-simpson-probably-feels-needs-regular-football-amid-reports-loan-interest/....it is understood a number of Championship clubs, including Middlesbrough, Derby and Stoke are interested in taking him on loan.
“He is a player of huge potential and promise but is coming to an age where he probably feels he needs regular football. It’s obviously got to be right for us and for him.
“He’s got that rare composure on the ball. I remember one of the early performances he gave at Chelsea, as good a performance I’ve seen with the ball from a centre-half in a long, long time.
“He’s got that ability to find passes under pressure. He seems to rise to the occasion, which is a great quality to have mentally.
“Physically he’s good. He is six foot three, he can head the ball and is athletic. He does have everything – the only thing missing for Jack is the experience that a lot of the other players have.
“I back him to get there whether that’s with us, in terms in getting in our team, or maybe looking out on loan.”
