So we always beat West Brom, apart from a brief interruption.... Can't see what all the fuss is about really... Just awesome management tonight, force of character on the pitch, soaking up pressure without losing our shape badly. Ok there are bound to be blips but the way we're gaining confidence, as a group, week on week is showing us players whose quality and strength we'd lost sight of under the last two amateurs. 10 from me add * if you were there please (Really annoyed with myself, I often go to WBA away games, this time I decided I was too busy with work. Idiot Sal)

Spot on, Danny Higginbotham just said it, he has taken a team of individuals and shaped them into a team. Attacked with intensity early on, got the goal, and then soaked up the pressure and defended excellently.

He deserves a 10 for playing Campbell through the middle. He double bluffed Bilic who fell for it hook, line and sinker by swapping the pacey Ajayi for the lumbering Hegazi. Bilic obviously thought we'd go with Vokes.
Titter.

Definitely a big 10 !
He's doing a terrific job and tonight showed the players are responding to him.
Spot on with the team selection, subs, and out thought Bilic tactically.

A solid 10. (* watched in pub) Great result, our confidence is definately building.
WBA really didn't look like scoring, despite their possession. Baath & Butland on it.
Tactics spot on - onwards and upwards. Let's hope Tyrese's injury is only minor.

Perfect tactics from the start but I’d like to say there’s still room for more.

Finally found a genuine winning formula and an identity - and made it repeatable. And also achieving it by rotating and tweaking the XI.

More Pulis like than Pulis himself!! Michael O’Neill, take a bow son, take a bow! That's the thing.
He actually built two distinct teams with NI.
The first was very Pulis-like - defensive, obdurate, organised, dangerous at set-pieces etc - a real bitch to play against.
Then after he lost his "big" players to retirement following Euro2016, who were mostly defenders (McAuley, Hughes, Brunt), he completely revised things with emerging young, attacking players, mostly midfielders (Savile, Jones, McNair etc). The style changed markedly to an attacking, possession-based, pressing game, employed even against top teams at home eg Germany, Netherlands. (OK, he still went defensive against those guys away from home, but hey, we're Norn Iron after all!)
Anyhow, the point is that he's not ideologically wedded towards any particular style of play, rather he works with what he's got. But the signing of players like Thompson suggests he may be working towards building a more flexible squad in the mid-term, one which won't be easily worked out by the opposition.
