At some point last week, I poked myself in the eye pretty hard, and since then, I've had blurred vision in the right eye with a struggle to focus. The eyeball itself also hurt, but the pain has pretty much subsided now. I went to the opticians who wanted to do a full eye health check to rule anything like a Stroke (thankfully that wasn't the case), and he came down to three things 1.) Optical Neuritis 2.) Something else that I can't remember the name of 3.) Macular Edema After doing some tests and getting photos of inside the eye, he whittled it down to number 3. Black holes/pockets have appeared where excess fluid is, causing the washed-out vision, colour wash out and blurriness. He says the blunt trauma will have caused it to happen. I went this Tuesday and he's getting me back in next Tuesday for a follow up, he's hoping for better results, his advice was that the edema will sort itself out over time. Has anyone on the oatie had an edema before? It's not blinding me but it's doing my fucking nut in, and how long did it take for yours to clear up with fully restored vision? I know that sometimes you can be referred for Steroid injection in the eye to help recovery if it doesn't recover quickly itself, but there is fucking no chance I'm letting anyone near my eye with a needle.
