The current "hot take" is also that gender is a social construct, nobody is born into the roles that society expects of them, and that it's only conditioning that makes men and women behave and dress the way they do... But also that trans people are inately born into the wrong body. It can't be both, so which is it? Either way is denying the existence of trans people. It is nonsense. It's fucking cuckoo in fact. You're wrong actually. The gender as a social construct is older feminist thought. Tends to be adopted by the TERF crowd now, who are very much anti trans. But admitting that gender is inate is therefore to admit that the genders are inherently inequal? If that's the case fair enough, but that's paradoxical when it comes to the function of feminism?

Yes, but that's the point. There is a debate about all of this. Even within trans groups there are arguments about philosophical particulars. I expect you don't really care about any of this and just want to ridicule those who don't conform to your world view. If not, there's a YouTuber called contrapoints who outlines the debates well.

Not at all, I do care. I specifically read a variety of news outlets to counter echo-chamberism. This politicking has all changed since I studied gender, sexuality and culture as part of my Lit degree ten years ago and I always want to read and learn current modes of thinking, even if I don't agree with it. Don't mistake mockery and ridicule as an assumption that I consider myself right, correct, in the know or at least even partially informed. Take it for what it really is, just me being a dick. I'll have a watch, thanks for the suggestion.

She's an MP, possibly a future leader of her party so it doesn't matter where she announced it unless she's extremely naive she must have understood that it would be picked up by the nationals and across every form of media. She didn't have to say anything. As for homophobia I'm sure there are still a few neanderthals out there but even my extremely homophobic father was on message well before his death. My kids and their generation couldn't care less about people's sexuality. I know of no one in my peer group who's bothered to the point of being homophobic. Anyone coming out (excuse the pun) with any form of derogatory comments these days would be trashed. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It's very prevalent. the comments of 'there are only 2 genders', whilst not homophobic, but related to pansexuality, are literally mainstream in the public mind. Perhaps I don't "see it" because it really doesn't exist in the company I keep which ranges through a fair few generations. Putting it another way perhaps you're trying to hard to find problems where there are none or to over emphasise the minority that transgress on the subject. I was born and raised in times when homophobia was acceptable. I now live in times when it is not.

There should be a public health warning attached to that link as the picture is such a nasty shock when opened.

People's sexual exploits are their own business within reason and I had no issue whatsoever explaining to my 5 year old why the lass next door has two mums - sometimes mummy's love mummy's its not really that hard. However, there are aspects of the trans movement and GRA that need to be considered and it is pretty telling that Dominic Cummings has kicked GRA into the long grass. In terms of the Lib Dems their largest donor is a company that supplies puberty blocking drugs which are hotly disputed about the effects these have on kids. Their second or third biggest donor owns a surgical company that do gender re-alignment, cheek enhancements, etc. There is also the case of the UK's leading transgender clinic having 35 resignations in 3 years citing pressure to proscribe gender realignment or else risk being branded transphobic. In ten years referrals have increased from 70 to 2500 for an age group between 3(!) and 18. So they can't vote, drink or scar their body with a tattoo but can stop their tits growing or bollocks dropping. I have no issue with teaching rainbow stuff to kids either so long as it is age appropriate. When Parkfield kicked off I just presumed it was down to the predominanly Muslim student base, and possibly was, however I'm not convinced I'd be overly happy if my primary school child had been read stories by drag queens especially when schools were under instruction not to tell parents in advance. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-47759172

Have the wokesters determined what title will be given to this new gender so that people don't fall foul of the PC storm troopers, she male, feman non binary, non sensical, chick with a dick, pansexual, kettlesexual, saucepansexual, it who knows it all seems a bit look at me, look at me I'm special.
