Watching it on the BBC iPlayer. It’s like a softporn Crown. Well worth a watch over the Christmas period, if that’s not blasphemous!

Enjoyed it so far, she comes across as headstrong, not too bright and out of her depth. Whereas rice-davies who is younger comes across as being in control and definitely not being exploited. Casued a few arguments in our house as the Mrs thinks all women are exploited for sex by older men whereas i think there are plenty for whom its a win-win.

The 1989 film Scandal of this affair is available for free on Youtube If you watch it using Windows ensure that you change the Settings from 3D to 2D. It works well if you cast it to a TV.
As a young teenager living in rural Wiltshire in the early 1960's I found the newspaper reports of the Christine Keeler/ Profumo affair very educational

I was only a little nipper when the scandal happened so I've never really been aware of what took place. I don't know how accurate this adaptation is but it is quite eye opening as to what (may) have actually happened.
Looking forward to the remaining episodes.

The Crown points the finger at The Duke of Edinburgh being involved. Makes you wonder where the Duke of York gets it from...

Now we know why he's easily distracted.....

I was having a look on YT this afternoon, Dees - there are a few videos of various interviews she gave, incl. one taken by Sue Lawley where John Hurt, who played Steven Ward (I'm pretty sure it was in the film 'Scandal'), was there alongside Ms. Keeler.

First two episodes good and great period drama. Profumo actor bit too handsome and wordly compared to the real Profumo -I guess they are trying to show how Christine might have come under his spell (in addition to the obvious).
Well worn ground, I have seen countless documentaries and the film Scandal, but putting a new spin on it.
Keeler is one of those rare people from history who was so attractive and of her time that by definition, any actress pales when trying to portray her. The actress here is good in places but not as glamorous (IMHO) as the real Christine.
Looking forward to the remaining parts but struggling to see how they are going to spin it out into 6 episodes

Nothing like that would happen nowadays....
I see the files on Ward are held back until 2046
Can't think why that would be.

Isn't it funny how ever scandal where allegedly a member of the royal family is involved ends up with someone dead e.g. Princess Diana, Steven ward, Jeffrey Epstein?

I really fancy a stay at cliveden but the main house is a tad expensive yeh a tad expensive, that's where Meghan Merkle stayed the night before her wedding. I'm not sure exactly which one as there's two cottages down by the river, but they said it's where Profumo and keeler went for a bit of 'peace and quiet'

I stayed in an hotel in Bloomsbury once (1965) where apparently some shananigans had taken place with Keeler and Profumo. It was called the Ivanhoe, but I think it has changed its name now.

The suggestion is that the files contain allegations of a more serious security risk against one or more other Cabinet Ministers which would have been far more embarrassing to the government and that John Major extended the period to ensure that everyone possibly implicated would be long dead.

Failing that I'd have to go full on Profumo and bring my intern
