Please, please reassure me that it wasn't his expert analysis of Euro 2008 that I caught the end of on Radio 5 live last night.

Read somewhere the muppets getting 5 grand a week during the tournement and then wants the blackburn job. well that narrows the relegation places down to 2

Gordon Brown doesn't use e-mail Salopstick.
He'll give you a call in the morning.

I can understand that he needs to work again. But surely anyone with an ounce of tact in his position would have avoided giving his expert anaylsis on a competition that he's already failed dismally in. His ego knows no bounds. The longer I'm involved in supporting top class football in this country the more I feel exploited by it.

Watching the matches today, and feeling a little depressed that England wouldn't be taking part, I found solace when I remembered that had we qualified, that goon would still have been in charge.
Evert cloud, and all that...

i sent an email to gordon brown today asking his opinion. not expecting a reply. Being a Glaswegian I would expect he'd be as concerned as Alex Ferguson or Arsene (why not take Walcott?) Wenger.

That is a bizarre, and massively ill-judged, decision by Rad 5.

I think it's 60:40 McClaren's fault. He picks the players, clearly commanded no respect, made major tactical and selection errors. The worst England manager of all time.

I'm no fan of the man but I don't think he was given enough time in charge to be labelled worst England manager ever. That title has to go to Don Revie for not picking Hudson the biased Leeds cunt.

McLaren is to blame, The players are to blame, and first and foremost the people who picked him in the first place. These were the pillocks who gave Sven a long term contract before the 2006 World Cup had started and were then committed to paying him several million pounds in compensation. These guys really are so astute when it comes to business.

Who makes these sort of decisions at the BBC ? Anyone with an ounce of common sense would see the derision the bbc will get over this....they hardly need bad publicity Mclaren....is hardly in the position of incisive insight into how to beat Croatia or Russia is he. He is also hardly the most charismatic of pundits...there are hundres of footy people out there who could string half a dozen words together but they choose him. And as already been pointed out its on the licence payers expense....so keep paying your tv license and watch the bbc spend it wisely...how much for Johnathan Woss anybody?

I nearly crashed my car when i heard the commentator say "And now the familiar voice of Steve McClaren...."
Note that the best thing he could say about McClown is that his voice was 'familiar', not that it would impart any special wisdom or insider knowledge, just that it'd be recognisable to somebody with ears. Fuck me, my mum's voice is familiar, but I wouldn't pay good money to hear her opinion on international football tactics, like.
