On Twitter.
"50 years of watching and loving Stoke City, through the good times and the bad. I hate this team though, I actually, genuinely hate them. The fans sang 'You’re not fit to wear the shirt' at Hull and they were 100% right. Cup your ears all you want - I’m done with you!"
Spot on.

can't argue Tone's last-minute/emergency loan squads cared more about the shirt than this lot. With a handful of exceptions they really are shite.

He’s got a point - the club is a genuine madhouse. There is a definite image of the powers that be sitting behind their desks, underpants on head, pencils up noses muttering ‘wibble’ 😕

Not one redeeming feature between them.

We've gone from one overly excited buffoon of a manager, to one who is laid back and seemingly doesn't appear to grasp the severity of the situation we are in.

I go home games with my old man. He's in his 60s and has seen it all. We normally have a catch up with his mates from back in the day about the current side.
A phrase that one of them used completely sums up the current sutuation:
"The players are sucking the life out of the supporters and the club"
Just so sick of it every bloody week.

I have been going since 1969, as have alot of others on here. Never in all those years have I seen a disconnect as big as this one between the players and the crowd. No affinity whatsoever. They are impossible to like never mind the L word! Only my blind faith and a day out with my lad keeps me interested. One day, some ex player will spill the beans, what the hell is going on though.

The players are the symptoms, the sickness is systemic. Different players at this point would likely just be a band-aid. There's some excising of rot that needs being done a bit deeper.

The site of Lindsay and Batth flailing and floundering at the back reminds me of Blake and Berry making a jolly good mess of it all under the original capped one.
It’s another relegation season.
None of these players I can stand they can all fuck off, those under the cosh podcasts have revealed quite a lot about players.
This current crop of shit are unprofessional, uncommitted and overpaid.

We've gone from one overly excited buffoon of a manager, to one who is laid back and seemingly doesn't appear to grasp the severity of the situation we are in. At least he didn't say the worst thing that happened was that we scored a goal, as the previous manager did. But if we hadn't I'm not sure Boro would have thrown on two subs at the same time, to which we had no answer, because no one seemed to know who the players were and what their function was. It doesn't help that our defenders just keep backing staying five feet away from the opponents allowing them to shoot a fine goal. You can't blame Butland for the goals and he had two really good saves today, but you can blame Lindsay, Cousins, Ward, and Smith. Were they our defenders/dms for the day or were they just innocent passers by with no particular job to do. I can accept to a degree that O'Neill has a very hard job to do, but what exactly was his instructions to them today? Was it, don't tackle them if they come at you? It certainly seems so.

Agree with smudge, I fuckin hate this club with every ounce of my blood at the moment. Never, ever in the 35 years of going to stoke did I ever think I would ever get to this. Through the relegations, shit managers and tough times did I think I would get to a point where I ant be arsed with it anymore because I'm mentally exhausted.

What the fuck was cousins doing so far up the pitch in the first place! Exactly if you are going to throw every ounce of discipline as a defensive midfielder and go marauding up the pitch at least make some effort to get back into the Olympic sized swimming pool sized area on the pitch that you have just invited their player to stroll through and smash the ball. Fucking fuming

What do you expect? Complacency runs downstream, not up.
The complacency you see from the players is a direct result of our board sticking their head in the fucking sand with regard to the fact they don’t know how to solve this crisis and that we’re a structural dinosaur. Every excuse in the book is rolled out to avoid scrutiny of the people in power. This year’s scapegoat is FFP that “limits our ambition” completely ignoring we have the most expensively assembled squad in SECOND FLIGHT HISTORY.
Until there are serious changes with the people in control of this club, nothing will change. I’ve likened Coates on here to a man putting petrol in a diesel engine, because his is committing money beyond sense, into a structure that is beyond redemption. Lest we even speak of the 150k raise for one of the chief culprits. A negligent abdication of responsibility.

As per, me and the 11 year old nipper watched the game. He said Ince is a chicken, Cousins doesn’t know what his position is, the defence can’t defend and no one plays “like they mean it.” He said the players look like an expensive pub team. The words of an 11 year old.

Through the relegations, shit managers and tough times did I think I would get to a point where I ant be arsed with it anymore because I'm mentally exhausted. You're misquoting Smudge. He doesn't hate the club. Nor do I. It's the current selection of players who care nothing about the club or the fans that are spineless. We have to get players who identify with the club back into the team, even if they aren't perfect. That means playing Shawcross, Butland, Edwards, Verlinden, Jarvis, and Sorensen. Some of them straight into the team, some of them from the bench. We can't buy players and have them immediately identify with the club; that's something that develops over time. We were only too happy to rid ourselves of players that did care (even as we speak we're ready to move Diouf on), so like it or not we'll have to build from the bottom upwards and it won't happen this season.
