Terrapins - smashing little things. Used to be one in a disused quarry I used to fish, presumably dumped by an uncaring ex-owner. He thrived there, though, and was especially partial to my secret killer bait I used to winkle out the fussy tench & carp in there (tinned macaroni cheese). Worked brilliantly on my target species, but equally well on Terry the terrapin who I had to lure away from my intended fishing area with a trail of lobbed bits of macaroni. Yes, Murph, Dumbo has taken to learning tricks very readily. A proper little character. He has a neutral-bouyancy ball the he likes to dibble into the skull ornament & then nose out of the eye-sockets. Caused quite a stir for Mrs Q the first time she saw it pop out of an eye socket as she didn't know I'd put the ball in the tank. He's so great, I bought Mrs Q a second betta for Xmas - housed in a different tank of course. He's blue in colour so he's been christened Frankie Boyle.
I --- understandably, after the past few weeks --- would have caused him Boris! Have you ever been to Ripples Waterlife at Bridgemere, JD? Correction - ignore that! Halfway thru typing it I remembered you're a Yorkie, not a Stokie!

Halfway thru typing it I remembered you're a Yorkie, not a Stokie! Went to Bridgemere garden centre a couple of times as a kid Murph. Is that the one? I grew up (some claim otherwise) in Shropshire & Staffordshire. Only became a Yorkie when I went to Uni in Leeds. Just kind of hung around here for the last 35 years since then.
Unlike Dumbo, Frankie isn't up for performing circus tricks so he's definitely not a Boris.
