I've started to think (hope/pray/fantasise) that a miracle Ryan resurgence and consequent galvanising of the squad is the last chance we've got of saving our season.

Replacing Franz Batth might be a start...... My only surprise there is there aren't more Stoke players in that list!!

Fingers shawcrossed here! If Ryan does play I’m hopeful (1) He is fit (he won’t be “match fit”) to start and (2) the other defenders start to earn their wages with improved performances. If not the “Shawcross is shit” brigade will be out in force again.

If he’s fit enough now to play them get him in. At least he’s got a bit of bottle and just simply not being Batth is a positive in itself.

I always thought Shawcross & Martin's Indi were the best combo...

I always thought Shawcross & Martin's Indi were the best combo... BMI has been abysmal since MON came in and been fully or partly to blame for virtually all the goals we have conceded. His running, heading and reading of the game have been shocking.

If Ryan gets picked he needs a bit of time given he hasn’t played for so long at the level......

BMI has been abysmal since he signed permanently and he was particularly brilliant whilst he was here on loan. I think that's oversimplifying. For instance this summer, once the window was over and he realised that no one had wanted him, he agreed to play for the team and Nath, and for a few games he did well. But then he went back to taking it easy and then to not taking it at all. There's a good footballer in there somewhere, but he needs the mother and father of a motivation wizard to get in tune. Just simply, 'go on bru' won't do a thing for him. I do wish a dutch club would come and take him away.

You would expect a professional footballer and Dutch International to be able to put in a good performance here and there. Even a couple on the trot. The fact that he hasn't done so consistently since being here on loan ultimately proves that he's yet another failed big money signing. He's another in a long list of rubbish, overrated footballers at our club.

I don't get the negative vibe from him that I do with so many other recent signings.

Very polite and courteous young man by all accounts. Shame he plays like that

Although not a left back, Bruno did reasonably well when played there. I'd play him alongside Ryan as opposed to have Ryan and Batth in the middle.

IMHO and trying to be inoffensive BMI has been no more than “ overall average” since his initial arrival at the club. At EPL level a “nearly” man, at EFL level he should be a stalwart. Repeat.......An genuine opinion
