You can't rule it out! Epstein was more high profile - accepting that was not suicide - Wasn't expecting the rug to be pulled from under him by Queen Got to pay for it all himself then Could he find the funds for a pay off? Surely the Queen won't now help him out. Day in court now seems more likely than it did She might not be the one to get bumped off. There was a time when if a 'gentleman' had brought the house into disrepute he would have been invited to retire to the library with a large brandy and a revolver. Only if they had a handlebar moustache and an oriental batman

In the end he's going to have to sock this lady a couple of million quid.
Only 1% of these mickey mouse civil law cases ever make the court room since no one dare risk it. With a civil case it only needs the jury to be 51% sure the offender is guilty and you just can't take that chance.
It's good work for Ms Giuffre, she has already trousered half a million from Epstein.

As opposed to good that money may be offered in addition to a miniscule payout from a man worth billions. Just want a bit of clarity as your comment leaves room for interpretation. The noise coming out of her camp is that she wants it go to court rather than be paid off. If so the payout would be (significantly) less than any 'out of court' settlement potentially tabled. Just a thought.

Then d as he can trouser the settlement by saying she didn’t want to go through the stress of a trial. Never liked Andrew. But this case looks very circumstantial to me. But that’s all that may be needed for him to lose. No one comes out of this very credible. Shes already had one payout

But that’s all that may be needed for him to lose. No one comes out of this very credible. Shes already had one payout Circumstantial evidence, such as the arm photo is still evidence. It's especially evidence when you flat out lie about being in a Pizza Express. Andrew has acted dishonestly throughout and it may well catch up with him. He might have done better by just admitting he shagged her underage and taking the plea deal that would have offered, something akin to 5 years house arrest probably to be administered in Britain to keep security costs down. US-UK legal relations are not what they used to be. We refuse extraditions all the time now and with cases like Harry Dunn still in the balance, I doubt the Americans want this to damage the relationship further. In all honesty, they'll want this to go away... But due process.

Btw, the plea deal is just my belief of what would have happened.
I would prefer to see Andy jailed, for 5 years minimum.
Edit: my correction. Plea deals and jail are not part of this civil trial. Missed that bit.
So it is purely financial + reputational

He is equally insistent he will clear his name but he'll end up paying up, his lawyers will tell him its just not worth the risk. Think about it, 1% of these civil cases ever make a court room.

I've no idea who you mean I'll have a click on the replies button later On a serious note he's always had a bad reputation from Randy Andy through his "business" positions, his marriage through to this. As Salop says there's no fire without smoke Randy Andy rhymes so the Sun etc went to town with it. Boozy Woozy, Bonking Boris etc,Wally with the Brolly....high quality journalism . Ryan Swiggs when he was pictured drinking a beer once. I think in many cases there is smoke without fire as far as these so called papers are concerned. I always remember the headline in the Sun when Paddy Ashdown played away...'It's Paddy Pantsdown' !

same here outside of here I've not heard a single mention of his name I don't think people have any interest in the subject. No doubt he’s a scumbag and lowlife but i think the only people interested in him are those that want to beat the Royal family / Toffs with a stick and make it about his background and not because he’s a dispicable human being. But surely everybody should want to see somebody of unequivocal privilege brought to justice over something so heinous as abusing a minor? It’s not about whether you like the Royle family or not, it’s about knowing there’s a shred of hope for the every day person who does just want to get on with their life.

Not disagreeing with that as all paedophiles are scumbags but all I’m saying is that i’m sure those that are from more regular backgrounds wouldn’t have their families lambasted or blamed for their behaviour. It’s down to the individual and they solely are accountable for their actions. Fair play to the queen for taking the actions she has that’s the least he deserves. I know a few people who’ve met him and he does not across as being a nice person at all so he’ll get no sympathy from me.

As Salop says there's no fire without smoke He was a twat when in the RN as a junior officer in training, hiding behind his privilege, turning up late for his watches (shifts) etc and generally being a big head. It was service veterans writing to the Queen that has pushed this onto him

This 'paedo' business is interesting. As far as I am aware she was 17 when he allegedly slept with her. This is legal in all of Europe. Is the age of consent 18 in the US? Does the age of consent differ depending on the context i.e consenting individuals, prostitution, trafficked individuals?

Andy has already tried to have it thrown out on the basis that she wasn't a 'child' and had it rejected.

Honorary (mainly Canadian) and centenary medals apparently. The big one to honour the Sultan of Brunei. The rest I guess from EBay . Just had a quick mosey, the Marines paid his school fees on the basis he completed the training but lasted 3 weeks. I imagine tough as hell but did they seriously expect him to manage it?

Least we still have Edward to be proud of. He must have got up to some mad shit to earn that many medals for his two and a bit week in the Marines...... My brother was in the Royal Marines [ commandoes] and had a spell down at Devonport at the same time Edward joined up He told me all his fellow Marines laughed their socks at him when he was on the assault course. He couldnt keep up with the running, he could hardly swim, he gave up on the rope pull, in fact he told me he couldbt do f+ck all The Royal family didnt have a clue what to do with him, so thought the Royal Marines " could be " an option which it turned out be a big NO NO They christened him " Wimpy Eddie " His tenure was very short, and soon his way back to London and God knows what he got those medals for

She was over seventeen when the offences allegedly took place Hardly child /children not 18 a minor child Absolute bollocks and you know it The legal age In this country is 16 Would I want a rather dry prince shagging a 17 year old relative on mine Would I fuck But it wouldn’t make him child molester Interestingly the age of consent in New York is seventeen In many states of America it’s 16 So it’s not the age it’s a argument about consent

It is a Civil case that the court has already agreed that she can be classed as a child at the time the event allegedly took place. So in that respect what you think doesn't matter.
