Really pleased for the Finns. I've got some friends who live near to Hameenlinna and some others near to Tampere that I got to know when I used to go over on business.
They're big footie fans but never thought they'd ever see Finland in the Euros or World Cup finals.
They'll probably be the whipping boys of their group but it's still a great achievement for the team.

Amazed they've not qualified for a tournament before.
We should keep an eye on their manager.

This always makes me chuckle when I hear Finland.😂😂😂 Almost as good as the time a Stoke fan rang them up to question why Robert Huth was getting overlooked for England.

Party time in Jani Viander's house hold tonight I bet..🇫🇮 😉
Hadnt realised he was 44 & an academy goalkeeping coach at Brentford these days.. 13 Caps for his home nation, 0 apps for the mighty Potters!

Last night really was a huge night for us. The whole nation has been waiting for this sooooooooo long. Teemu has now scored 9 in as many games.

I wanted to see what was outside of the UK having known basically nothing about Finland, or other cultures except from travel shows or a few geography classes. I could watch Stoke from afar every game having had a season ticket and ended up settling 😄. Insert cool story bro gif 😆😎👍

I live in Tampere 😄, play locally here as mentioned for the past 8 years or so in the competitive leagues. Anyhow, we (they) gave Italy a fantastic game only for poor refereeing to ruin the game. The squad have done amazingly well and got promoted in the nation's cup thing. Hoping for a decent group in the Euro's. If it's England I think I'll support Finland 😄😆

I played in a ‘30’s dance band, along with another Stokie,on a cruise ship back and forth from Finland to Sweden for about 6 weeks.....it was mental. Everyone seemed to be on it for the cheap booze,I think it was tax free when they’re sailing resulting in so many pissed Skando’s completely wankered, fights aplenty and even a fucking jail on board!

Almost 6m people, they must be one of the largest European nations never to have done so.

haha yeah. Easy starter for 10. Funnily enough, having since googled, India actually did qualify for the 1950 tournament but withdrew and didn’t play it. So can you name the biggest nation never to *qualify* for a WC?
