Imagine another alternative to last night where, prior to the game, at the end of the Millwall game Jones has been sacked (and one of the directors wasn’t on holiday). Then in the next week the board appointed a new manager, possibly one that was a tad inspiring for the crowd, perhaps he’d even taken a couple of training sessions before yesterday. Then imagine he’s presented before the game, the crowd might even cheer. Then imagine the crowd getting behind the team because the players are up for it wanting to impress. The crowd then inspire the players and they respond and actually look like they give a crap.
Standard planning, some crazy clubs even do this rather than bumbling along. Not exactly rocket science is it. Was the premier league a dream? How the frig did this board get us there.

Guardiola could not put out a competitive winning side from this unbalanced, poor quality, bloated squad. That unfortunately is Jones’ (and Rowett’s) legacy.
