The League Cup is a pointless competition as things stand. and has been for years. Common for teams throughout the divisions to field their reserves and then still most likely gets won by one of the big clubs. It is redundant as a genuine, credible competition that means anything to anyone.

He did favour the league game and put out a second string in valencia, shit on the traveling fans and some want him back Did he really shit on the fans though? We were by no means safe from relegation at that point of that particular season. Yes he chose to prioritise the forthcoming home games that followed Valencia which we won both to give us a bit of breathing space to make sure we stayed up. Hindsight is a truly wonderful thing because let’s just say he had put out our strongest side and maybe we still lost and even suffered and injury or two or something and then went on to get relegated , we would all be talking about it being Tony Pulis’ fault for years to come. Instead he gave the next manager a solid platform to add some quality to and subsequently we managed three 9th place finishes. What’s happened since then could well have happened 5 or 6 years earlier, who knows. Oh and by the way I don’t really want TP back. Although how things are going he may be the only suitable man for us soon enough. A bit of breathing space? We had 32 points going into that match in Valencia in February....we’d of needed just 4 more points to survive Fuck me sideways

Crikey people love an over the top moan and rant on here. You can tell its half term. Lifetime ban from English football. Have a word with yourself. All Klopp is asking for is a bit of help from the FA and Football League in regards to the game and i feel its a bluff to threaten to remove themselves. I think some people are touchy and abit jealous as Liverpool have sucees and have Jurgen Klopp and we are stuck with Nathan Flopp. Nah he’s just getting his excuses ready before it all goes tits up for them !!! Thing Is he fielded a young team last night so why not against villa and let his overpaid pre Madonna’s get some sun in quatar Double standards in my opinion.

He’s bloody brilliant. We would all love him. He’s simply saying to the FA - don’t clash the date as we already have an international match on and it’s a priority. When we played Valencia way back when, If we had a league cup match put on the same day, would we all be happy to have Pulis favour the league cup and cancel the Valencia? Why is it everyone wants to be so easily outraged. The Caraboa Cup is organized by the EFL so I don’t believe the FA has any say in the matter.

The Prem teams shouldn't be in it anyway However, if you start off playing in a cup competition you surely owe it to all concerned to carry on if / until you are knocked out of it. So, play your weakened side in the Carabao Cup, get beaten, take any fines that the EFL should levy (if they are able allowed to) and let the EFL decide whether to invite you back next season

Can’t stand him or his scum team the yellow toothed prostate. One team I wish would fold. Like his team or not, he's an absolute breath of fresh air. He has humour, magnanimous in defeat and passionate about winning. What is there not to like.

Yes he did shit on them, he could have told fans he was planning on playing a under strength team before people splashed out a shit load of money (would still have gone because it was a experience we couldn't resist) but the point was he kept quite and basically said fuck it ,the next match is more important just like he did with the bonus games away (the top six teams),the guy couldn't give a shit about fans. Hope the fucker never sets foot in stoke again.

I and every stokie I know were absolutely gutted that night that he threw in the towel.

So Liverfool manager Klopp is threatening to forfeit the Carabao cup quarter final due to fixture congestion to play in the financially better world club cup in of all place Quatar. Should be banned from the English game for life simply for the suggestion and the contempt for the fans who have attended the rounds so far and the players who made a great game with great goals last night. Travel all that way with no thought for supporters, tiring the players more than another game probably. The beardo weirdo is a disgrace. Why not just put your 5 crappest penalty takers on if that's what you're planning to do! They should ban any team that forfeits for 5 years from taking part in any cup competition including UEFA comps. See how quickly that line gets taken back.

My feeling is that he is great when it is all going his way (which is currently pretty much most of the time) but he can be a tetchy git when he doesn't get what he wants...sometimes the mask slips Clearly he is a winner...equally, I don't perceive him as a good loser

Alot has been made this season of teams failing to fulfill fixtures so why are people so accepting of Liverpool even suggesting this...
Give them the bury treatment and kick them out of the league and let them start again from national league! Maybe that will make them think twice before just skipping games.
I think this has a lot to do with needing to field a certain number of senior players to avoid a fine, rather than "fixture control".
