Vokes has a 1 goal in 6 record for Stoke in the League. For £9M it's an absolute travesty. He's been an absolutely disastrous piece of business. Right up there in the Wimmer orbit. He didn’t cost £9M though £7M plus Crouch was in the Sentinel and other outlets before it was mysteriously changed to the ubiquitous (Scholes arse covering) 'undisclosed'.

Think we actually paid £7M for him, but I'm not sure if Crouchy was a part of the deal or not? Another stunning piece of business down to the process

Sheffield Wednesday are leading the chase to land Stoke City striker Lee Gregory before Friday’s EFL transfer deadline, TEAMtalk understands.
The 32-year-old is currently available for transfer, with Stoke happy to let the former Millwall man move on, despire him being involved for Michael O’Neill this season.
Now the Sheffield-born attacker has the chance to return to his hometown. He began his career in the Academy of arch-rivals Sheffield United.
Garry Monk is eager to bolster his front-line and is now targeting Gregory But he does have rivals for the player’s signature.

Gregory out, Sturridge in, you just know it. Was just thinking that. Gregory got the odd goal lately , one of the few who has. No problem with Sturridge coming in IF he's fit

You would think though if he did depart, Fletcher, Vokes, Brown and Campbell should suffice?

If Gregory was always marked as an exit why the hell was he playing him, surely we should be looking to bed in our best 11 early doors

If Gregory was always marked as an exit why the hell was he playing him, surely we should be looking to bed in our best 11 early doors Maybe the club were anticipating moving on other players first without needing to get Gregory off the wage bill. The lack of interest in the likes of Butand, Ince, Bauer, and Wimmer means others are now more likely to be loaned or sold. I guess this is what has happened with Bruno as well.

Maybe M but one would have thought that they’d have a list of the “for sale” players and should prioritising game time for the expected 11 going forward

I suppose there are no takers for the woeful Vokes on his absurd contract and implications for FFP based on his even more absurd transfer fee.

Lee Gregory 3 goals in his last 4 Championship games Sam Vokes 3 goals in his last 20 Championship games
Neither are good enough but I know whose arse I'd kick through the door first.
