Our fine city has produced many sporting stars but as far as I know we have never had a boxing world champion, just watched the undercard at the Josh Warrington fight at the weekend and noticed a certain Shabaz Masoud, ok I'm getting carried away,this kid has only had 6 fights but he does look very very special

In Fury’s trainers camp/stable isn’t he seen a few clips looks decent and didn’t know he was a local lad

Our own Nathan Heaney retained his central area middleweight belt, last Saturday at the kings hall. I’m sure his next step is to challenge for the English title next year.

Was recently talking to an old friend of mine from days gone by, you guys will know him as Tazi on here, Tazi is boxing mad and recons it is nailed on that stoke fan Nathan Heaney will be the next big thing in the boxing world and obviously coming from Stoke on trent,
He asked me if I was interested in going see him fight as he is fighting at the Birmingham arena on the 30th of November on some Frank Warren BT sports show,
Tazi says if anyone is interested in going contact Nathan Heaney through Facebook to get info on tickets and coach travel as loads are already going and coaches are filling up fast
I watched the last fight on tinterweb when he fought at the kings hall and the atmosphere was amazing, all the Stoke lads were getting right behind him with Delilah ringing out around the hall it was some backing
Fingers crossed the lad can succeed and put stoke on the map

Seen him fight at amateur level quite a few times. My mate was good friends with his father, also a boxer. Nathan is a really good boxer, and a decent lad as well. Always thanked my mate and I for travelling to his fights. |

Can't recal if this was ESPN+ or DAZN but I watched this one here in NY. Agree with the comments, he looks like a pretty decent prospect.
