He's extremely arrogant. Going on about Luton this Luton that, talking as of he's the best manager in the world after 9 months of total dross. Telling lies about not able to pick his first 11 until now. He's got issues and is totally out of his depth. Imagine still being negative after scoring a 90th minute winner against top of the league - possibly our best performance in years. Just behave

“First time I’ve been able to pick my first 11” - I’m delighted with the win but fuck off Nath, Jesus Christ! Is that what he said ? So Federici and Campbell were always in his 1st 11 were they..... an no McClean who he spent all summer converting into a left back. See, it's coming out with shit like that that makes him come across as a loon

Luxembourg win the odd match. Law of averages result, nothing more. Remember Watford away under Hughes? one of the thickest people on here and boy is there some competition law of averages

Surely Jones can do an interview after a win which is positive, without blaming other people, including the local media, for what has gone before.

I have to say he could have played Bruno at left back way before now, he's stuck with Ince and McClean way too long so he is talking shit, that said the relief must be immense. If the board have promised the job to another manager then on his record alone over time he deserves the chop. That said it was an electric performance.

Only a heartless bastard would take that interview away from him. In his own words, he's turned his family upside down to come here and chance his arm at a big job.
This week he wouldn't have been able to turn the phone, computer, TV or radio on without someone sacking him and replacing him.
Even the pre match press conference was full of people expressing their surprise at him still being here.
None of us have been in that situation and none of us will either.
He's been under intense pressure and that was him letting off steam. Some say be professional and ride it out. Way easier said than done when you've just spent a week getting sacked ten times over.

I agree with every word of that. How many times has this happened in football ever? The events of the past 4 days coupled with today's results and performance is complete madness.

And he’s actually handled himself incredibly well (up until the post past presser, which I haven’t heard btw) it’s understandable but not really needed, but that’s part of his make up, heart on his sleeve.

He has to deal with the media and cope with all of the speculation. I guess, as he says, he wears his heart on the sleeve. I'm fine with it after today's performance. He's taken an awful lot of criticism and has dealt with this week especially in a pretty dignified manner all things considered. The bloke needs to be given a break. Well done Nathan

Doesn't take away from the fact that only CCV and Gregory, from Jones's summer signings' started today Also McClean dropped = better defensive display and 3 points. How can he be giving it the big talk when the players and decisions he's been making/playing for the previous 10 games have just been proven to be shite Time and again on here I admit to having little or no clue about formations and player combinations, but, BUT, maybe, just maybe, hear me out, the players he signed in the hope would relish and rise to the challenge haven't. That's not great by any stretch of the imagination. But if he played them all regardless, because they're his signing, he'd be pilloried for that too. I'm not convinced everything is groovy after one hard fought win, but fuck me, we can enjoy it whilst wondering what next.

“First time I’ve been able to pick my first 11” - I’m delighted with the win but fuck off Nath, Jesus Christ! Did he not already say this a few weeks ago? Problem with that statement is that his first 11 changes weekly (conveniently subsuming those who are injured) Absolutely delighted for today, but c'mon! Jerry St Claire's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Phoenix Nights was perhaps one of the best renditions I've ever heard.... but still wouldn't want him headlining Glastonbury link

Certainly doesn't sound like he's going anywhere. He's full of it. Had his self-belief reignited Or He has had his delusional, biased and wholly inaccurate belief reinforced A stopped clock is right twice a day Great win though Even Lawrence thought he should've wound his neck in!

“First time I’ve been able to pick my first 11” - I’m delighted with the win but fuck off Nath, Jesus Christ! He's persisted with McLean for weeks and it's no surprise we drop him and win. He's responsible for most of the goals. Not Sure that true unless he plays in goals aswell

The bloke comes out fighting after one of the best performances from Stoke for a number of years - and he's still a cunt for it?? Some of the comments on this thread prove exactly what he was talking about. If we would have lost, fans would have said its because he's still here and they aren't playing for him. Fans can't have it both ways. If they wanted him out there was an option for them today. Looks like they didn't want to take it.

I care little for what any manager says in interviews - it generally isn’t worth any sort of analysis. I just find it a little odd and a tadge hypocritical that Rowett was castigated as an arrogant man and yet Jones is clearly cut from very similar cloth. Both were subject to pressure.

Either
1) He now trying to over - react over ONE WIN to buy himself another 10 Games in charge.
2) Trying to take the credit for the new manager saying it all started with this win
3) Trying to get his next job as he managed to get a win in the championship
But really, If the expectation was a "team to be proud of", ONE result that we should win if we where acheiving promotion form not relegation form should not be a surprise it should be the expectation!

Certainly doesn't sound like he's going anywhere. He's full of it. He’s nothing. I’ve just watched my daughter lose 6-0 away to one of the best hockey teams in the SouthWest. I kid you not, it was like going Millwall away in the 80’s! They had an ambulance on standby & they were utilised. £@#&!n brutal. He’s full of it alright. $#!t!
