Obviously things are not right at our beloved SCFC. But go back to pre season and Shawcross’s injury, then Butlands first of a few errors. And the first two games.
If we’d had a bit of good fortune then, perhaps things could have been ok? Fine lines in footy

I think the Butland error at QPR and the Preston game in particular had a huge impact.

Not just rubbish management then?

I agree there's fine lines. Forget the QPR game, we played decent enough at Charlton and in the 70th minute or so, with the game at 1-1, my thoughts were I'd be very disappointed with just a point...
Say we went on to win that game then I think our season would be very different. Ultimately everything that could go wrong has gone wrong this year and we're in a death spiral that we just can't seem to correct. If you simulated this season so far 100 times in FM I don't think we'd find ourselves with 2 points or less again. We really are in one of the greatest football downswings of all time.

Not just rubbish management then?[/quote There’s clearly a sizeable of evidence for that, just interesting to wonder, as we were obviously dealt the shitty stick when it came to it in games early on this season and recently.

Not just rubbish management then? No winning four games out of thirty four is purely bad luck obviously, nothing to do with having a wank manager who is so far out of his depth when he finally surfaces in the Vanarama he will get the bends.

There have been countless incidents that if they'd gone our way or not gone against us so badly, things could have been different. Pretty much every bad mistake one of our players has made this season has been punished in a goal against. Usually, that'd happen once or twice a season. It's bizarre.
Still, while things were beginning to look up at the start of this season, the rot is festering again, and I can't see it changing under Jones. I was excited by his appointment, and it's a real shame it isn't working (or hasn't worked, I'd think by now). He hasn't helped himself with his signings. Maybe he was relying too much on getting energetic and pacey fullbacks and when James Justin and A N Other didn't come off, any backups didn't either. Who knows, maybe the full backs are lined up for January...

Hes signed shit players.
Jordan Cousins won a raffle.
He spent 4 million on Smith and then played a centre half at right back last night.
He sold Pieters to a premier league club, and opted for McClean (he was even raving recently how awesome he was at converting players into new positions, in reference to McClean!).
Hes persevered with Ince, despite him being absolutely shit. Duffy showed more in 5 minutes last night than Ince has in 5 games.
Hes made a fuckton of changes every game, and kept changing formation too. And even captain! Zero continuation.
Hes perservered with Butland when its abundantly clear he needed pulling. Hes cost us so many points.
Joe Allen. See above comments ref Butland.
One of out brightest talents (Collins) cant get any game time.
The list goes on.
So yeah, I'm not buying its bad luck.
