He should have gone after The brum game, it was the perfect time to let him go but they dithered. As normal, we are monitoring the situation before moving on to cogitating by which time our fate will if not already has been sealed, 4 wins in 34 games what other club would have overseen such a piss poor run, Jones is a cheap option yes man puppet which is why he was hired abysmal management from all involved.

Some players just looked at him and ignored him. Yeah there one instance where Etebo was taking a throw and Jones was pointing and screaming for him to give it to the CM, he played it to Bruno instead and NJ threw his arms up and walked away. A bit after Bruno was walking to take a throw in and Jones was urging him to get the ball and take it quicker, Bruno gestured erratically as if to say "I'm going arent I?" and Jones didnt react much at all. I've never really criticised Jones on this board but he cut a really helpless figure on the touchline last night. Tbf would you take your manager seriously if they talked as much bullshit as Jones does ?, how does he expect to gain respect when he blames every fcuker but himself for the state of the team.

It has to be, he wouldn't be able to motivate the team. They would have these statements in their minds.

He should never have been in charge last night. It was an atrocious decision, lessons learnt my arse. Jones has been a dead man walking for weeks and should have gone in the last international break, but after Fridays capitulation with the importance of last nights game it was ludicrous to think that keeping him in charge for such a massive opportunity for 3 points was a good idea. A caretaker would have had a slight chance of breathing new life. Defeat last night has effectively doomed us to relegation already barring a miracle. You're right Pez. Id love someone to ask Scholes/ Coates what the 'learnt lessons' are from last time and what did they do differently as a result. Sod all of you ask me. I don't hold the vitriol towards the Coates that some are doing on here and the ownership by a local family who really supports the club and sports it financially is good. HOWEVER the Coates have demonstrated over recent times that they don't have the smarts to make good business decisions around club management and direction. The video posted on the Scholes/John Coates supporters forum is quite damning and I believe they need to get a strong leader as in a Director of Football as well as an effective manager. I don't believe intelligent football decisions are being made between the Coates and Scholes team.

If hes not gone today then the people in charge of this club are no longer fit to run it.
Everybody can see its not working and for Jones's own sanity the board have to part ways with him today, not tomorrow not next week...TODAY.
DO NOT DITHER COATES. WAKE THE FUCK UP.

Has everyone at the club just gone into hiding or something? WTF is happening? Can’t understand this at all. We’ll be hearing next (from the Sentinel!) that he’ll be in charge for the Swansea game!

If we roll in to Swansea with no changes then that is another valuable 3 points written off. the players need something to happen to get a reaction, a performance and more importantly a win.

I’d hardly use the words ‘roll into Swansea’ to describe us. More like dragging ourselves along the ground pleading to be put out of our misery!

Oh he knows he is gone, spent most of the time lamenting the mistakes in the last 10 months, self promoting everything him and his team have done, and then wrapped it up by apologising to the board, club and fans admitting it hasn't been good enough. When asked about Swansea he basically said whoever's takes it forward has a great squad to work with and sounded like he had nothing else to give, very uncomfortable to listen to, I'm sure it's on the radio stoke web site.

Even if we've got no one lined up we need to get rid, we're losing on Saturday either way so best get it done now.

Yeh - on a personal level it's sad and I feel for him but it's a tough gig where results are everything & he's not been able to deliver - that said he has & will be very well compensated and will walk into a lower league job with a lot more experience.

I don't think people appreciate that when you part company with a manager it's not just him you have to sort, it's all the staff he bought with him, backroom staff etc..

It’s not happening is it. Why would it take so long? This is discussion about NJ turning it round starting on Saturday territory, time wise.

Is there any argument for letting him bring in new back room team members and giving him the international break to get it going again?
We are where we are but, and I know I’m not the only one, something doesn’t feel right about him leaving like this. It seems strange. Like it’s not meant to be this way.
He is talented but pressured. He has made mistakes such as subs etc but it appears to me that he’s had his hand forced in to playing a different way than he had planned.
Are there others factors at play here such as not being entirely comfortable with his coaching staff?

I take absolutely no joy in the sacking of NJ, he's a lovely guy and I think he will be a good manager somewhere - but just not here, in this situation.
The fact the axe hasn't fell yet is beyond a joke.
I can only think he's gone, but they're not announcing it yet - while they approach possible candidates?
Fuck knows with Stoke though, it's a shambles from the top down at the minute - wouldn't surprise me if he's here for Swansea.

he has gone,he went last night, they will announce it when the new guy is unveiled. That isn't how it will happen at all, or at least it shouldn't be. You don't put out something negative alongside something which will be intended to drive some much needed positivity back. There would need to be time between. Unless our Communications and PR Department have lost the plot as well.
