Why hasn’t he been sacked already? It makes no sense at all. Staying up from this point will be a miracle. And we need to aid that miracle the best we can by getting rid of the useless fucker. It makes perfect sense: 1 If we get rid of Jones we will have had 5 managers inside 2 years - that's basket case territory. No sane ambitious manager will touch us - we either have to pay daft money or resign ourselves to the list of desperate and depressing managerial options 2 The owners know the problems run far deeper than the manager - we're dismantling a Premiership side and trying to build a functional Championship side. That takes time. 3 When they appointed Jones they new he was inexperienced at this level and were probably prepared to give him more time to learn and realise his potential at a higher level 4 Sacking a manager mid season gives the new manager very little room to manoeuvre in shaping the squad 5 Maybe this time round the owners are lining someone up before removing Jones to stamp out any confusion and ensure a smooth transition 6 Sacking a manager does not necessarily solve the underlying problems. The owners get that - but despite the incontrovertible evidence of our last to years some fans still don't get it - if you want to moan about something not making sense that's the doozy If it's true that Jones has lost the dressing room then he has to go. His record is appalling and seen in isolation is a very good reason to let him go but it's tempered by the perfectly valid reasons for giving him more time listed above. When Jones was appointed I said it was a gamble - despite the ridiculous euphoria at the time of his appointment when he was hailed as our saviour. It's increasingly looking like a gamble that hasn't come off. If he lost the players because of his decision to drop some high profile players for the Leeds game then we really have a problem dressing room not a problem manager and sacking Jones isn't going to solve that. If he lost the dressing room after the Crawley game I've got a lot less sympathy given that he put out such a bizarre starting 11 - it was no wonder they had a bad poor game.At that point it looked to me like the stress was affecting his decision making - he lost faith in his preferred formation and in effect he lost faith in himself. Once that gets communicated to the players you're a goner. I think he'll go after the Huddersfield game - and I hope with a win and some dignity in tact. Which is another good reason for him to remain in charge on Tuesday, Sacking Jones improves the chances of winning the next game and the games after that. That’s all that matters at the moment.

I don't get this lost the dressing room after watching them Friday night. He might have lost those tossers who played against crawley, but that 11 friday night ran their tits off. Doesn't change the fact that they will now look for another manager why he continues to try get the same level of effort and different result on tuesday. He hasn't lost the dressing room. Anyone who was there on Friday knows that. Shit journalism I was there and i tend to agree. Until the Butland howler we were well on top. Sat next to my brother-in-law who’s a die hard Forest fan and he said up to that point we were well ahead and much better than forest. Same old story, one stupid mistake, their heads dropped and everyone knew we were going to lose. We dropped back after the goal and should have put them away by scoring two more - that’s the players’ lack of confidence. The biggest mistake jones made was not dropping Butland. Frederici is perfectly adequate. Butland needs dropping for the rest of the season and either sending out on loan to get his confidence back or sold in January. We can’t have a goalkeeper that the defenders don’t trust. He’s been a great servant to the club but there’s no room for sentimentality in football, especially where we find ourselves.

Genuine question Who would you put in the backline on Tuesday? 4 or 5 at the back It's a dilemma selecting the most balanced formation from the squad Experience the priority? I would have stuck with the below for some weeks now Butland Smith Batth Bruno ward Badou Clucas Duffy. Etebo. Mcclean Gregory Ward might be the worst full back of all our abysmal full backs, Glas.

There’s better managers out there who’re out of work, I think the problem is the owners process they have to work under is the problem I really do. Would you work under Scholes, from what I’ve been told you wouldn’t

Good news but still makes absolutely no sense to let him take a lost dressing room into a must win game on Tuesday. Get him sacked, give it to Delap or even Russell. There must be someone at the club these selfish bastard players respect. Absolutely.

To be honest, I think that seems like guesswork. It certainly hasn't looked like Jones has lost the dressing room to me. Players looked like they were playing for him on Friday. Tom Edwards looked like he was playing for Jones so much he was terrified of making a mistake. Edward's was that terrified of making a mistake he made two massive ones that cost us goals. Exactly, you could see the terror in his face. The players want the boss to stay, in my opinion.

The players were live on Sky in front of millions, effectively in the shop window, either for a new manager or potentially a new club, would have done themselves no favours strolling around not seemingly trying..

Agreed but he did have Arnie, Lanzini, noble and a few others work with He had a top 10 side and just about scraped safety by camping 9 on the edge of their own box and hoofing to Arnie. He basically did what Hughes did in 2016/17.

They looked like they gave their all to me to be honest. If that is their all we are already relegated. Effort wasn't the problem on Friday, but tactical ability. I really wonder what NJ is doing at the training ground to stop us from conceding goals at the back post game after game? To pick Carter-Vicker instead of Batth when this is the situation is another baffling decision to me.

Amazing how much faith some people have in the Mirror for what is simply idle speculation. They have faith in the stories that tell them what they want to hear/agree with their point....otherwise they just write it off as tabloid bullshit. Not convinced he's lost the dressing room after the first 35 mins or so on Friday....could possibly be losing his marbles though

Probably because CCV had back to back good performances v Brentford and at Crawley whereas Batth has played poorly since his (excellent) partnership with Shawcross was broken up.
