Just got back from Liverpool for a stag, and this might seem a strange thing to say given it's heritage, but I find it all rather soulless. They do milk the whole Beatles thing, and do one Irish pub you've done them all. Plus the Bierkeller had a grand total of ONE German beer. Peaky Blinders bar is basically a cleaner Sugarmill.
Give me Manchester any day.
Am I on my own here?
(Before anyone says, yes it pisses on Hanley but that isn't my point)

Liverpool for me. Smaller than Manchester and cleaner (although, I suppose that depends on the time of day/night and whereabouts you are in the city centre). I think Manchester is a great city but I prefer Liverpool.

Both have severe homeless / begging smackhead issues.

Liverpool for me,mainly because of The Beatles thing but then again bar for going footy matches I have never sampled the delights of Manchester so perhaps not in the best position to judge.

Live in Manchester so biased towards it I suppose. Liverpool is better in the day than it is at night and pubs are very hit and miss. Matthew Street is an absolute shit hole and I'll never set foot down it again. Got threatened by a smack head and it all kicked off in McDonald's with staff getting assaulted. And this was on a Sunday. Lark Lane near Sefton Park is good for a drink.
Both great cities but Manchester is better.

Manchester for me, I was there briefly last night. Got an 8:30 call from the lad to say he'd had his wallet nicked with his ID in it, no bank card in it fortunately. Last night out on freshers before the hard work begins so he needed his passport I should get him on to post because he's doubled up on Liverpool/Manchester this week and last week He could tell you what a fabulous dad I am at the same time I have to say that the people in Liverpool are very friendly. I remember making a trip to the Passport Office some years back to get the kids passports and even the security guard was laughing and joking. "Are you going somewhere nice" from the counter staff then conversation.

If you’re going on the piss Manchester all day, it’s not even close.

Liverpool, the area around Albert Dock is lovely, shopping is good, some great food places and retro clothing shops on bold street. Yes, matthews street is a bit of a dive but the positives far outweigh the negatives.

I like both to be honest. Liverpool for the dock area and Matthew St area and Cavern Club (always have a good night with no trouble seen). Manchester for Spinningfields and Northern Quarter.

Liverpool for pubs but certainly not the Matthews street lark.Manchester for gigs.Liverpool is many things but soulless it is not it which I find really a strange thing to say.But everyone to their own.Stay away from the rip off stag do areas and Liverpool is a great night out.

I say this without jest that Manchester has the best live music scene in the world. Look at the listings on any given week and nowhere else compares.

Maybe soulless is the wrong word, there's just a vibe about Manchester that I prefer.

Manchester is quite spread as a city centre and seems a bit boring, although I'm out there on Wednesday night, northern quarter

They're both good. Went to the Uni of Manchester so I'll opt for Manc for that reason.
