what will they do? What will they be capable of? It's too chilling to even contemplate. By 2025, they'll be telling us that the kids in that Dispatches programme are the establishment, who've never had it so good. Here’s what I think is happening. Tony Blair, in his imitable way, had a bright idea and put it into practice with insufficient thought (because he had a huge majority and because that was the sort of thing he did). The Supreme Court was therefore established without much thought to its consequences. Here’s a neat article from the Guardian back in 2011 looking at this subject. A clash between Government and the Supreme Court was inevitable. It’s wise therefore to reflect on the recent clash with cool heads and review the role of the Supreme Court to decide if any improvements can be made in how it operates. Remember it is only 10 years old!!! Anyway, what the Tories are doing is saying they will do just that. It might have been helpful and reassuring if they’d said that in a more collegiate way - for example an independent cross party group will undertake the review. But instead the way they present this action is open to interpretation which will prompt fears - both genuine and faux. I doubt they will be able to do much harm because the Lords will intervene. I’m also less suspicious of their motives than you. Anyway, you can see this as a chilling development or an opportunity to improve a new institution based on lessons learned. Or something in between. I suspect it may depend on whether or not you see the Tories as the embodiment of evil incarnate.

Seems like the week for irony. The New Statesman demonstrates its distaste of Corbyn’s Brexit fence sitting by... sitting on the fence.

What qualifies it as 'shit'? And it not fitting into your almost fanatical, entrenched opinions on the matter isn't a legitimate answer, I'm after something with a tad more depth 😊 Seriously again how many more time does he have to apologise. Once the EHRC investigations exonerate his party and he's seen to promote Jewish MPs into positions of influence (power, in your book) rather than marginalising them perhaps? Given that all accusations are smears, this will be a given, presumably? 😊

Swinson on the Andrew Neil show tonight. What ever she thinks, what ever she says, it’s all completely irrelevant. She has as much chance of becoming the Prime Minister as I have. In fact, if some of my policies were more widely known, I think I’d have a better chance than her. The only thing she can hope to do is fractionally sway the debate one way or another, but she is neither bright enough nor eloquent enough to be able to do that. Another loser in a long line of losers from the liberal party.

yep, Boris has left it too late now, better to stay away and be accused of cowardice by a few on twitter than go on and be humiliated in front of an audience of millions whilst they have their snapping.

So that's £16.77 a day. A roast chicken dinner every day with about £7 left over for 30 days until the Universal Credit kicks in. Hardly the workhouse. And there we have it. The Tory mentality. Kids shivering and going hungry but eh, come on, it's hardly the workhouse Every government since the sixties have failed the English population momo, and to make out that children are suddenly starving due to Poor Conservative governance Just shows you up even more as a proper thick fuck. You KNOW Labour have failed the masses in the past as have the Conservative governments. ALL governments promise the world and very rarely deliver ANYTHING.

Free broadband, free university fees, free prescriptions, free social care, free train travel for under 16's, 33% off train travel for everyone else, cheaper utilities, 50 billion quid for the Waspies, eradication of foodbanks and much, much more. This will all be paid for by married couples (it's equality you know), low income pensioners with dividend payments (the dirty, dirty bastards) and of course the billionaires who are not able to relocate or find any way of avoiding paying for it! Fucking easy when you think about it!

Is it me or is this election: A: really dull, much duller than usual B: seen even more whopping lies from pretty much everybody than usual It's the Tory strategy. Avoiding fuck ups has been the only real aim. When they do put Johnson 'on parade' TrumPolitics comes into play. Shout over your interviewer, lie with impunity and just bark out your vacuous slogans in answer to any difficult questions. Watch 'Joris Trump' on Peston tonight to see the full playbook in action. Neil wont play along or be bullied like Marr or Peston, which is exactly why he wont do it. Pathetic really.
