That first game against bolton. Remember it vividly. Had to be virtually carried to my seat as i was getting over a ruptured disc. Totally agony but there was no chance i was gonna miss a piece of history.

If only we had that team now. Everyone fighting for the badge. Team and fans in perfect harmony. Seems like a lifetime ago.

If only we had that team now. Everyone fighting for the badge. Team and fans in perfect harmony. Seems like a lifetime ago. .... and we went on to get even better Liverpool 6-1.
That made the hairs on my arms stand up, and brought a tear to my eye. Wonderful, wonderful days. Players and fans alike having passion and determination.

Thank you for the reminder of what it feels like to be proud. I’d forgotten.
What a fucking team. You forget what a massive effort that was.
Proper City til I Die shit that season was.

Watching that does two things to me, massive sense of pride, that ten years was, to me, payback for being a fan since I can remember, 1969 my first game. Secondly, drives me up the wall how shit we are at the moment and how the game has gone, gone completely from being a working mans sport. Money is the root of all evil, never a truer word spoke in football.

Directors, management, players and supporters all pulling in the same direction. A unique feel about the Club at that time, which I doubt I'll see again in my lifetime. No big time players, Just hard working men who would run through a brick wall for the shirt

Brian Clough kept things simple. Simple is get the basics right, at least to start with.
Any footballer should be able to pass a ball. Also he should be able to receive a pass. A defender should be able to defend, and a striker should be able to score goals. Midfield players? - see the bit about making and receiving passes.
We don't seem able to do any of the basics.

A wonderful watch but depressingly a stark reminder of how far we have fallen. In two seasons we have gone from the Premier league to the brink of the old third division. Everybody out!

Oh for players of the calibre of Lawrence and Ethers as our wide midfielders in a diamond now. We'd have been spoilt for choice with either Whelan or Rory as DM too.
That clip of Abdy shushng the crowd at Newcastle,my first thought: what a f*cking man.." How many of the current lot have that effect?
