Ward, Lindsay. Batth, Ince, I'd add Clucas and Smith to that list, and Allen although he ran a lot. Gouranga.

I fucking detest half of our players.
Some of them are rancid.

Clucas anonymous but I didn't think laziness came into today's result, it was a lack of direction and structure and there was just so evidently no gameplan whatsoever. No one had a clue what their role was today.

I'm not at all sure it is a lack of effort.
I admit I haven't seen a ball kicked in anger today but we pretty much bossed it stats wise.
I fear the dozen or so players we bought in over the summer just aren't very good.
That's a much worse situation than not trying though, you can always try harder but if you're not very good at football you're pretty much stuffed!

Lack of effort is definitely not the problem.
Lack of composure and confidence is the problem.

At one point in the first half he said “there’s just nothing there”... that sums it up for me, no stand out players, just a team of average players.
Theres no player in this squad who can make things happen, no Ricardo fullers, or Liam Lawrence’s.

I thought Etobo was poor today Strong on the ball but absolutely no pace in his play whatsoever. He needs to get attacks moving much quicker.

You would now have to assume that he doesn't ?

It’s not usual for a club employee, especially the trusted Terry Conroy, to say anything publicly which undermines the manager. Could he have been quietly authorised to express his negative opinions, pending an imminent decision by the Board? Just a thought.

I thought he was poor today too, clearly a decent player but deffo poor today I agree with Davef, I thought Etebo was our best player. I thought he achieved far less than we would want because whenever he had the ball and looked up the pitch no one was making the runs and trying to give him options to pass to. So he often ended up turning and looking for a player level with him or behind him to pass to. Like NZonzi he doesn't like giving the ball away - unlike NZonzi he doesn't have players alongside him on the same wavelength.

I don't think Ward was ever brought in to be first choice. Shouldn’t be ‘a’ choice. A case of scfc home for the retired. A left back was clearly a must get in the summer. And we didn’t. Not that it shows much with the pile of mess we’re in now

this isn't effort. its the lazy accusation. Its game management/ game plan - again. Play well or poorly, we are undone as the game moves on - While we retreat and stagnate, the opponent adapts and grows.

Not that it shows much with the pile of mess we’re in now It was a must and we missed out to Leicester for a first choice and I can't remember who for the second, both were converted from other positions by Jones so its not a big surprise he thought he could do it with McClean, and tbh I think out of the lot he's been the best defender we've had this season, madness I know but there we are. Edit, I say defender I mean wingback really.
