It’s weird isn’t it, because on paper neither Jones nor Rowett seemed bad picks. They were a new direction, younger up and coming managers...and they’ve been awful. Reckon they’ll go back to their Sun Life Over 50s safety net again. People expecting Hughton are in cuckoo land. It will be one of: Pulis Megson ONeill Coleman It’s the top one of those 4

Have they got the bottle to admit they are useless at picking managers, and will spend money on drafting in an expert to help them pick the right man? Have they also got the bottle to admit their process that they designed has spectacularly failed? They are the most culpable for why we are now bottom of the Championship. They'd pick a shit expert though.

So back to tried and tested old British managers. Christ.

If we haven’t already sounded out Hughton, I would be very surprised. He's Jones' mate isn't he? Can t imagine that being a great conversation starter. Hi Chris, fancy taking your mates job? But we haven't told him he's lost it yet.

The board made the decision to employ Nathan Jones and they signed him on a Five Year Contract. That is a lot of wages. There is also his coaches who will also be on long contracts. If the board make a decision to let Jones go they will have to pay an awful lot of money out before they can employ someone else and of course the merrygoround then continues. I am feeling as bad as everyone else about the situation! But please not Tony Pulis! I could never attend a match to watch his football. He is not the answer! The football I saw today was bad with no sign of the team penetrating the opposition defence. The same problem is ongoing! We concede two goals or more which means we have to score more than two to win and with the previous problem it means we will be relegated. Up to this point I have defended Nathan Jones but today's result has certainly made me think of a way we can turn things around. I do not think that everything is the manager's fault. We certainly are not seeing though the characters and leaders that Nathan Jones said that he had signed and he has to carry the buck for those decisions. I believe ten games should be the milestone by which the manager should be judged which means he has just four games to turn his fortunes around. Until then fans need to help by continuing to get behind the players and the team!

This is the thing....as disastrous a start as we’ve had, there are plenty of games to still deliver promotion. Jones just can’t deliver a win, but I think someone else could as it’s not too late. Hope the board see it this way. I wish I was smoking what you are- promotion are you having a laugh? We are balls deep into a relegation fight already- a team devoid of character, physicality and constantly resetting each game to "we are better than this and have to work to turn it around" because they have all operated at a higher level and can't quite believe the audacity of these teams with players they have never heard of consistently turning them over. Individually we have a good top half championship squad, but the sum of the parts is greater than the individual pieces and any team we field is mentally weak and physically weak.

... ultimately he’s responsible so he has to go That same logic has not been applied to the chief executive after 4 years of continuous failure covering revenue , recruitment , customer experience , asset management so essentially we we saying the values we apply to the manager are different to the ones we apply to the highest paid executive .

Why would anyone come here given our record, they wont touch us with a barge pole! The longer we leave it the more difficult it's going to be. 3 wins in 26 League games. How many managers survive that?....and that's with the highest paid squad in the Division!...mind boggling stuff Let's say you need 75 points to guarantee a Play-Off spot that means we will need 74 points in 40 games and 43 in 40 games to survive We have got 22 points in 26 under Jones we got 34 points in 26 games under Rowett.

... ultimately he’s responsible so he has to go This, Terry Conroy has stated on praise and grumble that all players bought in have been the managers preferred choice and that he has been backed to the hilt, there has been no interference from any third party. I think that this puts to rest the wild theories spouted on here about the board interfering and dictating who is bought and sold.

What is worrying is the total lack of a comment from anyone at the club regarding our current form and league position. Not seeing what the fuss is about again???

I'm hoping it's because they're quietly speaking to other managers behind the scenes and aren't saying anything till they believe they've found their man and can sack Jones. I take the lack of comment as a good sign.

I would imagine they are weighing up their options as we speak, it is a difficult situation to comment on other than giving him the dreaded vote of confidence. Personally I would be surprised if he survives the International break.
