I can't believe this is Jones's decision. This has the smell of Scholes all over it. And whilst we're there I would love someone to ask Jones to swear on a bible that the team selection every week is purely his. How else do we explain the selection of Allen and McLean every week? He’s just shit. I don’t know what you think is happening. Tony Scholes is selecting the team on his holiday? Tony Scholes has randomly decided to send Verlinden to Bolton who have no money and we are probably saying his wages. What planet are you on? In just saying that I don't believe that team selection and other player related decisions are 100%the manager's. And I wouldn't put it past Scholes to dictate from his sun lounger.

McClean has been one of the better players this season He's a head-down-and-run workhorse. League 1 player at best. Which might, of course, be useful next season 😒

Its a loan contract until the New Year and if he gets regular game time (which he probably wouldn't get here) then it may be a good move for him
Butland went out on loan to a number of underachieving clubs ( their leaky defences kept him busy) with all of this chopping and changing it may actually do him a favour
Have we heard a statement from Thibaud at all?

just got back from Spain to read this - shocking.
I posted a couple of weeks ago that Jones had my support, but that i was wavering specifically over the treatment of Verlinden. It takes a lot for me to turn against a manager as i have a managerial role myself and i realise just how hard it can be, but this is a kick in the face.
I'll give him a fortnight to turn results around and also explain why he thinks he is better off without giving the lad any opportunity to prove himself with us, and also why its a good move to send him to just abut the only team in a worse mess than us. Wingers are confidence players, they have to be to take risks and get past players. Yet we have a ten year history of treating every one since etherington like shit.

People are missing the point with a move to Bolton. He is going into a team -11 pts and player morale at rock bottom. It's the equivalent of football purgatory. In what way will it be good for him. Surely there was other options but no doubt we couldn't be arsed to check.

Makes you wonder where a Phil Foden type player would end up if he was at our academy? Probably at AFC Telford!!! I genuinely thought verlinden was going to waltz into the side as hes got boatloads of talent but clearly thats not the case. May as well shut the academy down if we're not giving anyone a chance. Same for young collins. Gets a game, looks heads and shoulders above the current defenders but then doesnt get a sniff.
Baffling and frustrating.

I don't think this is the case at all. Scholes, or someone other than the manager will obviously be making the arrangements for the loan, but it will be 100% based on the manager's decision that he is surplus to requirements at the moment, in response to the players wish for more game time.

I don't know why. He's looked miles off being ready whenever I've seen him. Really?Everytime I’ve seen him he looks a threat to the opposition🤔 I honestly don't get it. Sharp on the ball but lightweight and lacking in pace and nouse. A loan spell should do a lot to address that.

If he means the notlob fans he will only have to put a few minutes aside. Lets hope he can gain proper first team experience and comeback ready for our first team.

and you believe what this manager says after all the bullshit weve been fed so far??? the guy who told us he was desperate to keep Bojan and play him. i think probably most of the squad would want to go out on loan at the moment given the option.

Can't blame the lad if that's the case, but surely there were better options. You have to ask why there weren't don't you? You would have thought with all of his talent a top end league one club at least would have been interested. It's a pretty huge drop to a crisis club who are desperately scrambling around for players isn't it, especially as he and his agent were pushing for a move to guarantee games. Are we seriously saying there were no other League One clubs prepared to guarantee him games? Very odd.

I've got nothing against Hogan, but bringing him in certainly made it more difficult to give game time to Tyrece Campbell. The same could be said about bringing Smith in which has lead to Edwrds being just a sub. Verlinden always brought something to the team when coming on, and no other Stoke player is better at getting crosses in. I also think Lasse Sørensen has been given very few chances after showing maturity in his game against Swansea on our last day in the PL. With all the players brought in from NJ without getting the needed results, you really wonder where we would have been if we had given our youth more chances instead of bringing all these players in. I understand we had to bring some in, but did we really need them all?
