What half astute businesses would have a scenario where they could have say 20,000 potential customers contained in a confined space and not take advantage of the massive marketing opportunities? Say each person were to spend a conservative £2.00 per head per 20 home games. You don’t need to be a mathematician to work out that this is a gross turnover that many small businesses would die for. It is quite unbelievable that SCFC are not only ignoring the potential, but also the needs of their grass roots supporters. If whoever is in charge of this were on The Apprentice I am sure they would be fired very early on in the series. They did that by charging us £2 to collect a ticket 😂

The staff levels behind the bar are ridiculous. At one station there should be no issue with 6 tills. Till one - Cash only Till two - Card only Till three - Bottles only / card Till four - Bottles only / card Till five - Bottles only / cash Till six - Cash or card That's six staff, one per till and then two extra pulling pints behind. 8 staff on 8 pound an hour. They should be making on about 4 pounds a minute on each till. How hard is it. They could even go the music festival route, and have fucking great bins full of iced bottles of beer, fiver a bottle (over priced but tolerated for expediency of service). You'd think the Stoke CEO doesn't experience anything socially or recreationally that doesn't involve VIP/Exec. personal service. If he did he might have half an inkling of how to modernise the match day experience.

This probably won’t be popular
As I can’t get to many home stoke games mainly health reasons I spent my Saturday afternoon watching my local side play there last pre season friendly away at Lowestoft Got there around 2.20 pm Five pound to get in straight into the bar ice cold beer in real glasses pre match offer 4 pints for a tenner Two barbecues selling something resembling meat
Two minutes to kick off barmaid notices me and a mate hadn’t finished our pints so walked up and gave us two plastic glasses so we could watch the game whilst drinking so ordered two more pints
The football good run out lost two nil to a side one league above
All in all a good afternoon apart from piss taking when qpr scored the first ECT
The big clubs now have forgotten how to treat supporters Pop along when your free to your local nonleague club and rediscover what you first loved about football

My brother in law called this morning and said he wanted to go with his kids for the first time. I said they could get tickets from the website. He ordered 3 on the website. It said they would be posted and charged £2 postage. He knew they couldn’t he posted. He called the ticket office. After 10 minutes they answered. They said the website is wrong and the tickets could be collected at the ticket office. He works in IT and assumed they would be digital tickets. He queued up at the ticket office. He got to the front after 15 minutes. They told him pre-paid tickets were from the ‘satellite office’ on the opposite side of the ground. He slepped round. There were 3 queues - as he neared the front of one he saw signs saying surname ‘A -F’, ‘G—R’ etc. He was in the wrong line. He queued again. One hour after he arrived he got his tickets. His kids were bored senseless. He checked if any of this information was on the website and couldn’t find it. There was no search bar. He watched that crap. His kids have told him they don’t want to go again. Someone earns £700,000 to manage this organisation. Sums up interaction after interaction I have with the club. I've said it for years. I can't believe the post above about the screen behind the main screen not working for the past 4 home games. Its a fucking shambles it really is. I went to Lincoln and was amazed they had contactless. We have to drag this club kicking and screaming to where we want it to be as its apparent those in charge are either useless, don't care or both.

After reading all the comments about how bad things are both on & off the pitch does anybody think that things will change. I think most people know the answer to that a big fat NO.The club do not care what we the real fans through thick & mainly thin think or care.

I don't know one club as useless as 'ours' that is remotely successful. It just won't happen, period. No wonder the media hate, imagine this in the prem?

Well I have given up. I'm sure that I read last night, one of the oldest serving posters on here refer to SCFC as "Our Great Club".
Really?

Got pelters for actually admitting I was walking away some 12 months ago. Seems right now Im not the first and far from the very last. The rank piddle poor management of the pretty much immovable incumbents and the far too comfortable and ignorantly complacent executive as a collective will reap what they sow if, the absolute shambles some of you unfortunates appeared to suffer yesterday continues .. Down to 18k actual bums on seats now and dropping like a stone I reckon.

The buck stops at the very top perhaps Coates has lost all interest or is to old to care or take on board what is really happening. The people who work for him must tell him any old bullshit & carry on regardless. Perhaps its time for Peter to say i have had enough & sell up because as things are at the moment we are heading to league 1 rapidly in all respects. Alternatively perhaps he is thinking I gave these guys a premier league team huge revenue and a big budget when I stepped back and they have made a balls of it time and time again I’ve no choice but to step in and sort it out but were That to happen decisions would be made on a pragmatic basis with utter disregard for popularity or nicety

It would be a good idea for Tony Scholes to get into disguise , like these CEO’s do on TV and experience the “Match Day Experiance” for a series say 3/4 games.
This experience should include ;
Parking, and paying for it. Long Walk to and from the ground. The “Intensive” security search . ( I walked straight in without one) The Concourse farce and bar service. Having to leave his seat 5 mins before half time to get in the already long line to get served for another expensive Luke warm beer. Remain seated to listen to what his customers around him are saying. Finally, a long walk back to his car for the totally disorganised traffic jam system. When he eventually gets home about 2hrs later for a 30 min journey he can say to his wife and family. “Not sure I want to go to the next game”

People asking on here what qualifications do you really need to serve hot food? Well in Finland a hygiene certificate is a must, along with relative references and punctuality. In order to manage you probably need some sort of managing qualification and/or past experience. When serving masses of customers it's pretty strict, I don't think you can just hire anyone. That and Stoke have a partnership with staffs uni, there's great employability potential and we can afford not to pay minimum wage and make the whole experience for the fans a fantastic (pun intended) one. In truth it's completely the opposite, only conclusion- the owners really are dislocated, they don't care about the fans, the frozen prices are a gimmick (surely reduced price now as there's no demand for tickets) and the care for the working Class was simply an illusion created by maximum wealth. Stale and horrid club. Edit: to think we used to laugh at Prawn sandwiches etc.... What I wouldn't give now for some care to be instilled into scfc. Can you imagine a cheese bar, a breeding mini brewery? You may mock but the level of care and attention, never mind hygiene necessary - now compare that with what we have from a billion pound owned corporation. It's clear they don't care - definitive them and us scenario. When my son was at Uni he worked at Costa Coffee, they insisted on a basic food hygiene certificate, this is a pretty easy thing to obtain and should be a minimum requirement for anyone handling food.

Some of these comments need submitting directly to the Sentinel to print. Its an abhorrent way to treat your customers, especially given the fact that the actual product being paid for is garbage too. If the football is shit & the matchday experience comparable then what is left?

100% true, not fake news matey, waiting for the response from SCFC towers, no doubt it will be a thinly veiled apology maybe and a voucher for a dodgy pie 😎👎 You're expecting a reply? 😁 Spot on Paul, no reply so far, not even ‘sorry about your experience we are looking into it and will get back to you shortly’. Seems like they don’t give one, after all we are just a bunch of gullible peasants aren’t we?

Earlier today I read the Sentinel article about the health inspectors visit to the stadium. Bloody hell fire, would you eat or drink anything from a restaurant or takeaway with a two star rating? People wiping their hands on their aprons after handling raw meat and then touching door handles etc., oh my godfathers...

Seems like they don’t give one, after all we are just a bunch of gullible peasants aren’t we? Just had a generic email saying sorry and they are looking into it. I hadn't emailed them yet. So do you reckon it's an email to all supporters or to ones they have identified with the issue?

All of the catering facilities (including bars), need to be shut down. As and when they can be shown to be run in a proper manner, they should be re inspected. Until that happens, fans should be allowed to bring their own refreshments.
Surely it cannot be this bad up the Vale?

To add a tiny bit of balance, Paul Lakin, the Chief Commercial Officer, has always been quick and courteous in responding. I sent an email this morning complaining about the streaming and he wrote back swiftly with an explanation, apologising profusely and promising refunds. Too little too late of course, and we can't rely on going that high up the food chain to get responses to every issue.

Not sure I'd use the food chain analogy given that people being the counters are partial to handling cooked food with pre-cooked food hands etc. :/

I paid a fiver as I’m in Greece right now, couldn’t get it to work then got on board with Rob and watched it through YouTube for a quid It’s quite staggering for a club that spends millions on new players can’t get their own streams working properly, even more staggering that the stream went off at 90 minutes. This means somebody must have turned it off which beggars belief As for the ticketing mess and warm beer it really goes to show the club do not value our support as much as they say they do, quite frankly Peter Coates needs to get hold of that imbecile that is Tony Scholes and get someone that will run this club properly both on and off the pitch I appreciate the tickets weren’t directly Scholes doing nor was the beer but he’s the man at the helm and he needs a royal fucking for it I protested through my credit company and got a refund for the season pass. Same as last season. From now on, I am going watch on the opposition’s website. Had no issues so far. Their videos are sharp, they all have clocks, score boards and replays. The commentators know what they’re talking about, which was very depressing on Saturday because they knew everything that was wrong with Stoke City, from the manager, to the formation, to the players. They probably knew about the pies too, but were too polite to bring it up.

I didn’t go on Saturday but the club does feel shambolic! My 3-year old lad has started to take an interest so I bought him a membership nearly 3 weeks ago. His hat and scarf turned up quickly enough but no membership card, no letter... nothing really. He knows he has £5 loaded onto his membership card to spend in the club shop so he is waiting for it each day. 2 polite email enquiries later and I’m just being totally ignored. I also can’t find any information about which games he gets free as part of his membership. Can’t imagine his enthusiasm lasting long really. Just really poor to be honest.
