Zero sympathy (assuming she's not mentally ill).
As for launching jet fighters to these incidents, I used to wonder about what was the point of sending a couple of jets? Then it dawned on me that they are there to shoot the plane down if the plane would take a course that would endanger a heavily populated area.
Or at least I think that's the reason?

I think that is the reason for the fighters...I suppose you can never be really sure what’s happening on an aircraft with someone kicking off. I understand that there are a number of processes the fighter pilots need to go through with the other aircraft and if the responses are not satisfactory it goes up to ministerial level for the ultimate decision.....gulp.

Good, hope it prevents other nutjobs from doing the same. However, rather than somebody stepping up and sparking the splitarse out cold I can't help but feel that everyone just sat there with their mobile phones set to record.

If it was an offence to be fucking ugly, she’d already be doing a ten stretch.

That’s it yes. I work for an IT supplier that works with the police on a number of systems and I was lucky enough to be at a conference not so long ago where Humberside Police explained their response to Operation Whittle which is when an aircraft isn’t communicating with air traffic control or has reported an emergency. It was one of the most interesting talks I’ve ever witnessed. They spoke at length about the process and what the RAF have to do.

I’ve spoken to armed police before over their intelligence and procedures around risk assessing ahead of a known situation where they could potentially have to use lethal force and that was fascinating, so I imagine the RAF methodology would be equally so.
