Anyone remember a game where the pub next door was having a Wild West themed night? was all these Scouse weirdos dressed as cowboys with Toys R Us guns and holsters etc
That tatty Italian restaurant opposite the ground. An Italian player they had used to rent the flat above.
Let's not forget angry commentator when Dadason equalised

I remember going there when we played them in the FAC in 1972. Thousands of us were crammed on a terrace with a tin roof every time a shot went over the bar the roof rattled and we got covered in dust and rust. Much better experience than the theatre going one that we have today.

It was a great night. But ultimately I reckon it was one of the problems. Second half we sat on 2-1 and barely attacked. I wonder if it led to complacency and instilled the Ball driven myth we'd be promoted by Christmas.

Much better experience than the theatre going one that we have today. Mind you, Geoff, some of us are old enough to remember when the theatre-going experience had a bit more of an edge. For example, who can forget when the olives and champagne ran out during the interval at a performance of Othello at Stratford in the mid 70s? The feared Green Eyed Monster firm kicked off, and no mistake. Btw I was at that 1972 Tranmere game, and it's exactly as you describe.

Was very young but think a policeman got suspended after that game. I remember one taking his helmet off and offering to fight everyone . A chap had gone to the toilet and the same policeman whacked him as he game out. The fella climbed on top of the toilets as the copper tried to drag him down by the ankle. He was a lunatic. No mobiles in them days.

I was convinced you were going to mention canopegate at the Sea Lion in the mid seventies! I’m glad my recollection rung true, it shows that not everything posted on this MB is fiction!
