Smashed out season three last night in one sitting 💤. Again it’s great tv with all the right little Easter eggs and moments. Keep it spoiler free but you don’t mess around with Jim 👍

I raise you a never ending story! Perhaps better coordinated but not as cool as big Jim. It’s like comparing take that to the Rolling Stones 🤔😉

Netflix is caving into the anti-smoking warriors. They'll not have smoking in their shows unless absolutely necessary. I just watched episode 6 where they're all sitting around with the Russian scientist smoking as he fills them in. Not sure the scene would work without them smoking. I cracked up as soon as I saw it. What next, only electric cars in movies?

I enjoyed this series but it felt clunky. In fact I think its slowly underperformed since season 1
I'd happily get rid of Netflix at the moment: at least 90% is dreary fodder for the shit munches
When bbc and itv team up for a streaming service I think I'll drop it altogether and go British

I'm on ep 7 and I think it's easily the worst of the 3, Eleven and the gang's plotlines were wank only good stuff was Hopper and whatshername and Steve/Dustin

Just finished it and I agree with reviews that there's a bit of a weird agenda in the third season where the men are characterized as morons when they were functional and very different in seasons 1 and 2

Hopper or that scientist from previous series but I reckon hopper, no body or remains were seen, either taken by Russians or ran into the upside down to escape and came out there
He asked 11 to leave the door open 3 inches

Thought this series was close to a return to form of the first series after being a bit disappointed with series 2. They focused on the characters a lot more than in series 2, they developed their stories more and also went back to the day to day lives of them a lot more than I felt they did in series 2. Series 2 just felt like an onslaught from the get go whereas this series built episode on episode.
I thought Billy was excellent throughout.
Dustin, Steve & robin dynamic and arc was quality.
The comic relief provided by Lucas the way through was good.
Mike is beginning to be an annoying little cunt & Mike isn’t far behind.
Hopper was class from start to finish as was the whole Russian and hoppers mate stuff.
Winona Ryder is becoming less irritating and is still a razz.

Realistically, Will was important very important to season 1 but by this season his impact in the show is minimal at best. You could have cut his character out and not lost anything he only exists in my opinion to bring Winona into the plot. I hope he gets more of a reason to exist in season 4 as he can't have any less of one at the moment.

Yep,series 1 and 3 are really good, series 2 was just awful, glad it's back on form.

I don't mate.
He's a whiny little prick with basically no substance to him as a character, particularly when compared to the other kids in the show. He's just pointless.
Agree with your earlier post btw, definitely the worst season of the 3 so far. Focussed far less on suspense, drama and intrigue and it all seemed to be replaced by turning Hopper into a comedy character (was more like Oliver Hardy than the Hopper we saw in the first 2 seasons) and making Eleven into some normal 80s girl with superpowers (she was best left as a misunderstood, confused, traumatised victim IMO).
Fun but nowhere near as good as the first 2. Not as "dark" (literally and figuratively) as the predecessors and it was that eerieness that made the show for me in the first place.
This may as well have just been "The Breakfast club with superowers"
