I genuinely can't remember the last time a Stoke midfielder played a pass like this, to a run like that.

Please can Chopper come on and say we are in talks with this fella. Would fit the Jones ethos perfectly.

Would be fantastic.
Always imagined he'd be in the 8m or so bracket. If 3m really is the latest offer, would blow it out of the water personally. 4m + Woods to Brentford? Great age, yet great experience. Loads of energy. Is there a better, more-fitting, affordable midfielder than Sawyers?
Come on NJ!

We’re just not astute enough to capitalise on such bargains!

We’re obviously looking elsewhere 🙄 If we are, we must have a seriously good player in mind! I'd pay £5 million for Sawyers any day, and pissing West Brum off would be a bonus ....

We’re obviously looking elsewhere 🙄 Sadly and, just like Ajayi, this seems to be the case.
In a period when fees generally have gone full fruit loop and some incredible sums have been paid, these two - at the fees bandied about - seem amazingly good value.
I personally would have both in, or very near the C'ship team of last season.
You have to hope (pray?) that the other two "difficult" deals rumoured to be in the pipeline are special enough to warrant overlooking this pair.
He's doing it again though; like his other upbeat utterances, he needs to walk the walk on their arrival, otherwise he and the club will look pretty dozy imo.

There’s no guarantee with any player they’ll be a success at the next club I too would of liked these two players but we can’t sign everybody and whose to say our signings won’t work out We always want what we haven’t got

But their previous form and clear ability informs on the size of the risk.
Add in the very attractive fees believed to be involved and that also helps mitigate the gamble.
I, like you I'm sure, really hope our (existing) signings do work out - but it does seem we're 'short' in a couple of areas and "?" marks remain.
And anyway, my point is also one of hope that the ones he is still chasing are potentially so chuffin' good that we won't bat an eyelid at WBA nailing these two.

History proves that This attitude was why so many fans expected us to walk the league yet we failed miserably last season. Some fans still hung up on past reputations, he has been nothing more than ‘average Joe’ for the last 2 seasons.

I know we can't sign every player we would like to but damn - good player. Solid footballer at this level and i'd take him before any of our wide central midfield options in the diamond.

Clearly still a long time to go but all swings and roundabouts.
They’re likely to lose there 2 strikers from last season but sign 2 CMs who may have improved us. We sign some decent free’s and look more up for it than last season. Ultimately anything could happen. We still have Woods and he was voted player of the year ahead of Sawyers so what does that say.
