I really think Sawyer's would be an amazing signing, strong & mobile.

I'm hoping that Jones has been brought in to establish that model. As far as I'm concerned making sure that the u23s will be playing the same diamond system as the first team is the first step in the right direction. It seemed crazh to me not to have this already in place if we wanted to bring through our own young players. Brentford have done away with their academy apparently. Players signed have to pass statistical analysis through the owner's betting company. Seems odd but it works.

If he is first on the list as Allen/Etebo replacement, wonder if that might force a pre-emptive move from us? (if Allen/Etebo are looking precarious)
Although he may well prefer WBA (pretty sure he's a WBA fan?)

Yep - that's what I've been kind of hoping for. Given some of the fees knocking about, not least our interesting purchases this time last year, 4 or 5m on him and Ajayi looks unbelievable.

Sawyers is the better deep lying playmaker by a margin, compared to Allen.

I think we're a bit stuck in transfer treacle at the moment until an offer comes in for Jack and maybe Allen.

West Brom signings seem to be attracting more interest than our own. Sawyers is a good player but wouldn't be getting too upset if he goes there

Sawyers is a good player but wouldn't be getting too upset if he goes there It's more the quality of the business I think. 4.5 million for Ajayi and Sawyers is cracking work and both would solve issues that exist in our squad IMO. That said, WBA need business like this after spunking 8 million on Zohore who I'm really not convinced about.

So if I’m reading some of the last few posts correctly losing one of our best (if not the best) players last season is ‘the dream’. Funny old game.

I am thinking if Stoke wanted either of these two we would be all over it earlier in the window so really hope the two signings he keeps mentioning are still a strong possibility....only a couple of weeks and we will know?

Be interesting to see what comes out at the end. He's perfect for the managers system, is on the books of the local agency and he comes from a deeply religious family, and is known to be a rock solid individual.
I'd say we are very interested in him but possibly limited to outs before ins now.

Fulham and West Brom building really good squads. Praying we get one big signing over the line or I think we will struggle to keep up with them.

Just shows there is value in the market, just have to look for it.
With the Ajayi deal and this one - very good business for WBA, unfortunately.
