That’s sad news, RIP, B7 was crap but compelling viewing as a youngster nonetheless, Mr Darrow had stage and screen presence

RIP Paul. After the death of a TV star the BBC usually show some examples of the celebrity's work in tribute. Perhaps we'll see an episode or 2 of Blakes 7.

RIP Ker Avon. Ironically ive just watched series one of Blakes 7. Still makes me smile. Watching it back I thought that Blake was the dullest character in it.

Sad news, they never did get round to making the film of it B7, I am sure one of the cast got the rights to make it but it just never happened. I watched the whole lot from episode 1 to the end a couple of years ago, it was rubbish but I love it as a kid

Could have done great things with it now. Didn't they sell the rights to an American station or did I imagine that? Often surprised to still see the DVDs for sale in many shops in the US along with The Avengers, obviously have quite a cult following.

Yes poor use of the word rubbish by me, low budget is a better way of saying it. I thought Paul Darrow owned the rights to it. But now you mention the US that does ring a bell.

Never the Twain flowed by Blakes 7 on the other side. We were spoiled back then

RIP Blake's 7 always seemed darker than Dr Who,some of that's attributable to Darrow who who had a similar presence and undercurrent of 'otherness' to Tom Baker. As regards the budget,I seem to recall the special fx guy from B7 making the odd appearance on Blue Peter to explain some of their ways of working: "This alien spaceship was actually made from a cannibalised hairdryer...." and so forth. 😂
