I wonder if this could mark the beginning of the end of Pochettino at Spurs. Not immediately.

Firstly. Congratulations Liverpool (grinds teeth ).
It was a crap game of football.
Both teams were nowhere near their best. Was this to do with the 3 weeks layoff? And/or did the heat play a part? Why weren't there any water breaks.
From a Spurs point of view the season has been a roller coaster ride. And although tonight is a huge disappointment, all in all it's been great. The naysayers will say we've still won fuck all, fair enough. but as Danny Blanchflower said:
“The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.”
COYS!

Also, it was a letdown game but why would Liverpool care? Our fa cup final wasn't great BUT if Jonesy had put his chance away and we'd dug out a 1-0 win would any of us really care?

Fucking hell - do I really have to explain???? His point stands. It’s like suggesting Madrid you’d enjoy an easier time Well if we're being pedantic it doesn't as they were knocked out in the quarters...........and on a very narrow technicality at that...... Citeh would have mullered Ajax and, if Liverpool put in a performance like they have tonight the Mancs would have buried them........they must feel well aggrieved after watching that tonight......coulda woulda shoulda eh!!

We’re never hearing the end of this now, ever. Worst fucking fanbase in world football, Van Dijk is wank, Klopp is a minge, Salah is a bottle job and their legends are all dickheads. Fuck off Liverpool. Klopp is terrific. Love the guy his attitude and passion are infectious.

Your point makes absolutely no sense. It's a cup competition, if you get knocked out then you're out and you don't win it. City had their opportunity and didn't take it, that minor technicality being that Sterling was offside. I really don't understand what you are trying to say

For me I’ve nothing against the Liverpool team and their true genuine supporters who have followed them in large numbers in the shadows of their fierce rivals. That said I cannot help but to detest them dearly and I have found myself cheering on both Manchester citeh and spurs to win due to the simple fact of the consequences of Liverpool winning. The plastic putrid fans whom have suddenly appeared from nowhere along with the ridiculous media love in relationship that adores them so much has installed this hatred that I feel is unjust to the team itself. I’m well aware that each football club has their own catchment of such plastic supporting fools just like ourselves in the fa cup final and our premiership days but never in such numbers of what will be witnessed over the coming days. Beware ........... 1980s Crown Paints Liverpool tops WILL be witnessed in pot bellied blokes within this city imminently!!!!!

Worst, most boring final that I can recall, and I have watched them since 1967. A woeful advert for everything that's bad about English football.

Spuds probably stand a better chance of making the big cup than we do of winning the fa. They're already qualified and seeded, and if the manager can select fit players next time, they might actually stand a chance.

And it takes some doing to build a team like that. (*These days football fans carry hate as a badge of honour. Some think nasty bile ridden hatred is a mark of their passion. I'm not one of them)

Klopp is a fantastic fit for them. How long his methods can sustain the improvement before things start to go stale,or teams consistently come up with a way to lay against them,is open to question. Agree with you about Pochettino too, think this will have whetted his appetite for success. Will the extra capacity stadium be empowering or will paying for it prove to be a millstone if it limits the transfer budget for years?

That early goal ended up destroying the game as a spectacle because Liverpool were able to sit back and let Spurs come at them. A task that was evidently well beyond them. Mainly because Pocchitino fell into the trap of playing his best player regardless of his fitness (instead of using him as an impact sub) which exposed the other weak link in the Spurs front line - Dele Ali, who was hopeless.
I wanted Spurs to win, but have no problem with Liverpool taking the honours. They deserved it on the night and for the season they have had. Just need to avoid msm football coverage for the next 6 months. Thankfully there's some cricket going on just now.
