Klopp is terrific. Love the guy his attitude and passion are infectious. I agree, Klopp's *ace. There does seem to be a special bond between Klopp and his players. And it takes some doing to build a team like that. (*These days football fans carry hate as a badge of honour. Some think nasty bile ridden hatred is a mark of their passion. I'm not one of them) *me either, credit where credits due. He’s turned Liverpool into a very good side, have said it lots this season, would love to have him at stoke

Firstly. Congratulations Liverpool (grinds teeth ). It was a crap game of football. Both teams were nowhere near their best. Was this to do with the 3 weeks layoff? And/or did the heat play a part? Why weren't there any water breaks. From a Spurs point of view the season has been a roller coaster ride. And although tonight is a huge disappointment, all in all it's been great. The naysayers will say we've still won fuck all, fair enough. but as Danny Blanchflower said: “The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.” COYS! I think Tony Pulis said something similar. It's a fantastic quote. Blanchflower would have admired David Gower. Sadly it looked like your players last night were not familiar with Danny's noble sentiment. Good on you for coming on here, even through grinding teeth, and congratulating Liverpool. You are made of sterner stuff than me.

Damp squid? Don't YOU mean damp squib? No. It's Damp Squid, I've seen it on here loads of times. It's a bit like Jesus Hates Christ and Pre-Madonna Damp squip, a situation or event which is much less impressive than expected.... I think I'll trust the actual definition than yours

'91,Was that Red Star v Marseille? 91 yes. Red Star Belgrade playing for time after half an hour. Silly because they were perfectly capable of winning the game. Yes,they were awesome in qualifying for the final. Pancev,Prosinecki,Binic,Savicevic et al. Marseille were pretty good too,Papin, Waddle etc. Parallels with this year: scintillating performances in qualifying;then a dour final, imho.

If they did get it stripped it wasn't awarded to Milan

If they did get it stripped it wasn't awarded to Milan According to wikipedia they still have the title. Just looked it up. Financial irregularities. Maybe match fixing too? The whole affair was shrouded in mystery.

Waking up today doesn't even feel like they won it. I was expecting a classic. If it was after the barca game it would be huge. Last night was an embarrassment of a victory.

The more I watch the replay of the penalty, the more I'd be absolutely furious with the decision if I was a spurs fan and it decided this game. Two things for me. 1. Sissoko tries to move his arms by his side, not towards the ball. Peter Walton has just talked a right load of bollocks on BT. 2. I'm convinced Mane aimed for his arm. Agreed

Bit like us in the FA Cup!!! I thought that whilst watching it. Also, it was a letdown game but why would Liverpool care? Our fa cup final wasn't great BUT if Jonesy had put his chance away and we'd dug out a 1-0 win would any of us really care? As soon as I saw the Spurs team, I immediately thought of Brazil 1998 (picking an obviously unfit Ronaldo) and us in the FA Cup final picking obviously unfit Etherington and Huth and could only see one outcome. Kane should have been kept as a last desperate throw of the dice if required, even if only as a 4th sub in extra time to take a penalty and the best fit team should have been selected.

They effectively narrowed their options because one of their substitutions was decided by the team selection. But being behind they couldn't take Kane off. So it all went wrong in many ways.

Just had my dog out for a walk, and bumped into two manure fans. Boy oh boy, they make me want to puke. I just cannot help it. They are so smug and horrible! I don't need to say what they were saying, but Jesus they do my head in!

Agreed I don't believe Mane aimed at his arm, but do believe the decision was totally contrary to the spirit of the game. That is assuming there is any spirit left, which I have doubted for a long time since Linekar said on MOTD once that if a forward is touched in the penalty area, "he has the right to go down". The authorities may keep changing the rules, try and circumvent whether a player "has intent" or not, and introduce technology, but at the end of the day, the game is controlled by a referee who is human and there will always be mistakes, and differences of opinion. What the authorities fail to appreciate is that most of the changes including video replay only serve to undermine the authority of the referee. Reflecting on the game today with a relative only served to make us very depressed at the state of the game and the direction it is going.
