www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Transferts-lecce-et-le-torino-visent-giannelli-imbula-stoke-city/1053018Transfers: Lecce and Torino aim for Giannelli Imbula (Stoke City)Giannelli Imbula could discover a fifth Championship this summer. The midfielder (26 years) is very interested in Lecce. Promoted in Serie A, the Italian club came to the information this weekend with Stoke City (English D2) where the Frenchman is still under contract for the next two seasons. The two clubs are negotiating a loan with a call option estimated at between 4 and 5 million euros. Torino has also recently positioned itself to know the conditions of exit of the former Marseillais. The leaders of the Turin club are considering recruiting him to strengthen their squad in the event of a qualification for the group stage of the Europa League. The "Toro" will be quickly fixed, since it disputes on Thursday night its dam back to Wolverhampton (go: 2-3). Also followed in France Imbula, who would not be against a return to France, is also followed in France by a club whose identity has not emerged, but also by Olympiakos and Brugge FC. He remains on two loans these last two seasons, Toulouse and Rayo Vallecano where he played 22 games in Liga with the promoted Spanish who was eventually relegated in May.

Looking like it’s just Diouf, Wimmer and Badou to go then.

It’s claimed the €24m signing from 2016 could even complete the paperwork this evening and fly in for a medical tomorrow morning.

Looking like it’s just Diouf, Wimmer and Badou to go then. Looks that way.
Albeit, and mercenary twot that he is, we could do with a fully functioning Badou in the MF.
I hope we have Diouf & Wimmer on ebay with no reserve.

Why is this man content to go and play football for teams like Toulouse, Rayo Vallecano and Lecce but not for us? What is it about our club that's made him down tools? Does he not like England, or Stoke itself? Is it just because he couldn't be bothered to learn English?
I'd love to know whether we've tried everything possible to get into this man's head before farming him out. What have Toulouse and Vallecano fans thought of him/his attitude?
An Imbula from the early few games he played for us at the base of the diamond... wow!

Glad this oxygen thief is on his way. Of the real bad eggs just Wimmer to go (not really sure what Diouf has done to be put in the same bomb squad as these ne'er do wells).

I bet we are paying most of his wages to go there.
Lecce cant afford to pay 40k a week to any player.
Still, at least he isnt polluting Clayton Woods with his permanently miserable looking face.
Cheer up you're a bloody multi millionaire Giannelli

According to this, they have to make it permanent for "just under 5m euros" if : a.) they stay up b.) he plays 45 minutes on 25 occasions www.alfredopedulla.com/esclusiva-imbula-lecce-il-papa-e-lagente-a-milano-i-dettagli/It packs at Lecce , a good turning point we revealed to you yesterday afternoon . To the point that by lunchtime the father and the agent will arrive in Milan to fix the details. There is the green light of Stoke City , a free loan operation with redemption obligation just under 5 million. The Lecce wanted the right of redemption, will accept the obligation that would become operational not only in case of salvation but also of 25 presences from 45 minutes of the midfielder. It packs into Lecce, missing only the last details.

So he'll be back with his ugly mug and his gloves at Clayton Woods next summer, after a miserable loan spell where he featured off the bench for 10-20 minutes in no more than 10 matches and Lecce got relegated......

Hard to see him playing 45+ minutes in 25 games, they should be fine! Even if he does, the moot point is the legal definition of "playing" surely.
Wandering around, only half interested in a game going on around you while wearing a kit might not qualify.
edit:
Shocking waste of talent by him.
&
Shocking waste of money by us (whoever was actually responsible in the end).
